Chapter 1

( Four years ago )

Anikas (P.O.V):

"Ok, class, today we have a special assembly. Can everyone walk in a fashionable line, "Anika stand in the front," her face paled like she had seen a ghost

"I'm so sorry, Anika. I didn't mean to offend you!!"

"Sammmm, when is Mrs Ri going to learn that I don't get offended if someone says something about my wheelchair or when they say walk or stand!"

" It's alright, Mrs Ri. I accept your apology," I said while rolling my eyes back. Sam and Scarlett were smirking, so I ran their toes over by 'accident' while we were walking into the hall.

Let me tell you, it was a surprise to see Christian standing with the head of school! He waved at me, and I waved back.

Christian is a university student who is doing his apprenticeship here, he's excellent with the kids in this school and with the teachers too, but the other students and teachers just eye rape him all the time. I hate it because he's like my big brother.

I was knocked out of my dare dream when Sam nudged me. I looked around to see all the teachers crying and the older girls with streaks of mascara down their eyes.

I closed my eyes and felt tears rolling down my cheeks.
"No, please, No", I was mumbling.

You may be thinking why I'm crying it's because whenever there's a 'special assembly', and a teacher is standing in the front with the head, it only means one thing

"Oakley Gardens school today is a happy but upsetting day because Christian has finished his apprenticeship, which means it's his last day."

My whole world stopped for a minute. I turned my wheelchair on and left the hall.

I never saw him again until four years later
