Chapter 10 : “It’s because she’s a bitc-''

“What the hell Ari?” He yells at the top of his lungs. His face showed anger I have never seen before. His fist was clenched hard so that you could see his veins popping out which some girls would find so attractive but this wasn’t the time for that. 

“What’s happened?” Tristan says looking back and forth confused on what is happening. “Oh would you like to know?” Brad says gritting his teeth. “Did I miss something?” Tristan says, still looking back and forth. “Maybe you should tell your disgusting cousin to stop eavesdropping on my private conversation” He yells, directing his anger at me. “Can you calm down please?” Tristan says walking up to him and resting his hand on his shoulder. “Why the hell were you eavesdropping on him?” Tristan says, directing his focus only on me. I can feel their gaze on me which was making me panic because I didn’t really have an excuse. “It’s because she’s a bitc-'' Brad tries to say before Skylar interrupts him. “Watch yourself. Ari, I need to talk to you, it's important” Skylar says, grabbing me and walking us outside the building before they could say anything. 

We continue to walk together in silence till we stop at a cafe. We both take a seat in the cafe. “That was close” Skylar says exhaling. “What was close? and what are you talking about?” I say confused because I had no idea what was happening and I did not want to be a part of any of her schemes. “You almost getting in trouble with your cousin and your lover” She says with an evil smirk on her lips. “He’s not my lover if anything were enemies and did you see the way he looked at me” I say before the waitress comes up to us. “Hello my name is Pam how can I help you” The blond haired waitress says before taking out her notepad. “We will have two medium strawberry lemonade and 10 chocolate chip cookies. That will be all. Thank you” Skylar says ordering for the both of us. “No problem I’ll be back with your orders” Pam says leaving us at the table alone again. “Aww you know me so much” I say with my hand over my heart. “Don’t try and change the subject,” Skylar says, taking our orders from Pam and paying her along with giving her a tip. “Thank you” We both say as Pam goes to help other customers. “What are you talking about?” I say grabbing a cookie. “You know what I’m talking about. Plus I saw the way he looked at you” She says, grabbing her drink to take a sip. “Like he was going to kill me, yes I saw it too” I say rolling my eyes. What is she even talking about? From what I know he hates me. “Yes because you were being nosey but not on purpose but I can see he misses you” she says grabbing another cookie. “Are you high?” I say, causing both of us to laugh. “Sadly no but I’m being serious. He misses you. I can feel it” shes taking another sip of her lemonade. “Yeah you're definitely drunk” I say, making us laugh again. “But all seriousness, do you miss him?” Skylar says piercing her beautiful eyes into mine. The table goes quiet. “I don’t know,” I say softly. “I feel like you do but you're telling yourself because you don’t want him to hurt you again but that’s my opinion. Anyways we have to go, the place is about to close” She says, gathering the garbage off the table to throw in the trash. 

I text Tris to tell him I’m safe and that I’ll be heading home soon. Skylar calls a taxi for us to get to their flat since she can’t drive. We head in the car in silence. “Thanks for saving me back there,” I say, stepping out of the taxi. “No problem anytime and you know what you need to do though” She says before I close the taxi door.  I watch the taxi drive off in the direction of Cals and Sky’s apartment. 

When I arrived in the apartment I took my makeup and took a quick shower and went straight to bed.

Brad POV:

Damn it why did I say that. It’s like no matter what I do this isn’t gonna work. “Why are you hiding back there?” A voice says behind me. I turn around to find Tris above Ari who is hiding behind the sound equipment. Was she spying on me? All I could see was red. Why the hell was she spying on me for? “What the Hell Ari?” I yell, clenching my fists. What is wrong with her. Tristan looks down the hall to see me standing there with a confused look on his face. He looks at me then back at Ari then back at me. “What happened?” Tristan says with a confused look like it’s not obvious that she was spying on me. “Oh would you like to know?” I say sarcastically. How could he not see what was obviously in front of him. “Did I miss something” Tristan says with that same confused look on his face. He can be so unbelievable when it comes to Ariana it’s so annoying sometimes just because he sees her as his little “innocent” sister. Like wake up your cousin isn’t that innocent. “Maybe you should tell your disgusting cousin to stop eavesdropping on my private conversation” I say staring right, directing all my anger right at her. “Can you calm down please?” Tristan says setting his hand on my shoulder. Of course I’m the bad guy here. Unbelievable. “Why the hell were you eavesdropping on him?” he says turning to face her. She continues to remain quiet because she didn’t have an actual excuse. “It’s because she’s a bitc-'' I try to say before Skylar comes out of nowhere and interrupts me. “Watch yourself. Ari, I need to talk to you, it's important” She says grabbing Ari before she gets a chance to answer. I watch Skylar take her outside and begin walking down the stairs.

“What the hell was that about?” Tristan says, turning his attention to me. “So you're gonna act like she wasn’t spying on me” I say rolling my eyes. He can be so unbelievable sometimes. “I’m not talking about that I saw that I’m talking about everything” He says with a stern voice. I looked at him in confusion because I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. “Don’t look at me you know exactly what I’m talking about,” He says, getting a little angry. “I honestly don’t know what you're talking about” I say trying to think of what he could be possibly getting at. “Since you wanna act dumb I’m talking about you and Ari. Why do you guys keep fighting? Did the two of you date or something cause I remember you making a promise to me that the two of you would not be doing any of that” He says getting more angry. “There’s nothing going on between me and her and there will never be. It’s nothing anyway it's in the past” I say, keeping my voice down so we wouldn’t cause a scene. “Is this about that argument that the two of you had three years ago?” He says, staring into my soul. I remain quiet because just thinking about that fight is all I do. I didn’t mean to make her feel like that and I knew that I should have said more. If I did we wouldn’t be where we are right now. “What happened that night? You can tell me I promise I won’t get mad” He says patting my shoulder. “I don’t wanna talk about this,” I say quietly. “Ok but you can tell me when you're ready. The both of you can” Tris says removing his hand from my shoulders. “Come guys let’s go there closing up the place” I hear Joe yell at the exit. We walk back to the van in silence.

Ari Pov:

I wake up to a painful headache which is great for me since I have to go to work later. I throw my duvet off my body and slowly get up. I honestly hate the mornings. I change into one of my oversized shirts and put on one of my shorts. As I walk down the hallway I hear movement in the kitchen. “Good morning Tris” I say holding my head while taking a seat at the table. As I let go of my head I look up to see a tan shirtless body above me. “Um Good morning” He says quietly. What was he doing here.
