Chapter 28 : “Just stay”

“Hey Ari” Princeton said standing in front of the table. “Hi Prince” I tried to smile. “So you're not going to introduce me” some voice says behind him. I looked to see a girl standing behind him. The girl is short with blond hair and blue eyes. You know the classic drivers license description. “I’m Amanda” she says, throwing me a smile that was clearly fake. “Oh yeah this is my friend Amanda” he says causing her to roll her eyes. “Just a friend” she teases him. “Yes, just a friend” He said clearly annoyed. “Calm down I was just kidding, no need to get mad” she smacked her gum. I’m not going to lie but she reminded me a lot of that devil spawn Megan. “Well it’s not funny and you know that” He said sternly. This is the first time I have ever seen him mad before and for some reason it was weirding me out. “Aww is my baby mad” she said rubbing up on his shoulders and squeezing his face with her hands. Most girls would be jealous that the guy they like was being rubbed up by one of his “friends” but for some reason I wasn’t upset. Which didn’t make sense to me because if it was you know who I would be.

“Anyways, what are you doing out here?” He said sitting down at the table along with Amanda. Why was I here? Damn it. That reminded me that I needed to get my food and get out of here. Brad was probably looking for me and probably thinking I got kidnapped. “Order 375A one last call for 375A” the McDonalds worker yelled out. I looked at my receipt to see I was Order 375A. I rushed to the front desk and got my food. 

I was about to pay for it when some arm stopped me. “I got it” I turned around thinking it was Princeton but It was Brad. He took his wallet out and handed the cashier the money before I could say anything and took the hot food out of my hands. “You want to eat it here or you wanna go?” He says but just when I was about to answer Rosie, Princeton and Amanda came up to us. “Leaving so soon,” Amanda smirked. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. From the looks of it she would be thrilled to have Prince all to herself. “Yes we are,” Brad said, putting a hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at Brad to see not only was he annoyed but weirded out but he pulled it together. “Hi babe” Rosie says sweetly. I wanted to vomit. She then began 

walking up to him to give him a kiss but he put his hand out  and gently pushed her back. “I’m not your boyfriend so back off me” He said sternly. “Clearly because you want to be someone else's” Princeton spoke up. I could feel the tension in the air getting thick. “No offence mate but I’m not here for you so if you don’t mind Ari we have to go” Brad said reaching for my hand. “Oh I see how it is,” Princeton said. “I told you she was a slut” Amanda smirked. What did she mean by telling him? “I mean cuz what did you expect” Rosie laughed. Cuz???? As in Cousin. How could something so sweet be related to something so evil and manipulative. “Just because the two of you are doesn’t mean she is and for information I’m taking her to go see someone” He says. “Who are you going to see?” Princeton said, stepping closer to me. “Not you so don’t worry about it,” Brad said, grabbing my arm and pulling me gently to the car. 

When we arrived at the car, Brad opened the passenger door for me. He then closed it and opened the trunk and grabbed something out. He opened his door and climbed into the car. “Here it’s getting cold and I don't want you to get sick” he says handing me one of his hoodies. I then take his hoodie and put it on my body. Since I was smaller than him the hoodie covered more than half of my body. “Are you warm? I can go get a blanket in my bag if you want” he says opening his side of the car door. I grabbed his hand which made this shock expression appear on his face. 

BRAD POV:

Her hand was on mine. I know it’s cheesy but I feel something. Something so beautiful. I felt her. “Just stay” she says with a smile that was real. “Ok I’ll stay” I said, closing the car door. I then take the food that I put on the dashboard in her lap. “Do you want me to drive while you eat or wait till your finish?” I said. I looked to see if her hand was still on mine but I didn’t make her notice because if she did I know she would move her hand instantly. “I bought you food you know” she smiled at me. “You did?” I smirked. “Of course I did, it's the least I could do for you since you're driving me to the hospital” she giggled. I hadn’t heard her giggle like that in such a long time that it warmed my heart that she was happy. “I love your giggle” I said which caused her cheeks to get red but she tried to hide it in my hoodie. “So what did you get me?” I said peeping into the bag. She then removed her hand from mine and reached into the bag to pull out a cheeseburger, some fries, and chicken nuggets for me. “I didn’t get you a drink so I thought we could share mine” she said handing me my share of food. “Thanks Airhead,” I said causing a big smile to appear on her face. Her smile was so big you could see her cute dimple. I hadn’t called her that in a while. I missed the old us but we both know that we couldn’t go back there. 

ARI POV:

“You ready?” Brad said, starting up the car. After we both finished eating we packed up everything and headed on our journey. During the car ride I couldn’t stop thinking about what Princeton said. Did he really think that Brad likes me or is in love with me because if he did then that would explain a lot of things but not really if you think about it. I also couldn’t stop thinking about how I wanted to slap both Rosie and Amanda in the face.

Speaking of Rosie I have to have a talk with Brad about what she was talking about earlier. “What are you thinking about?” He said, interrupting my thoughts. “Nothing really?” I lied. He then placed one of his hands on mine. “When you're ready to talk about it we can ok?” He looked at me before the light turned red. 

When we arrived at the hospital I couldn’t stop myself from shaking and he noticed. He reached for my hand and I happily took it. “Hello how may I help you” the desk clerk smiled. “I’m here to see my dad” I stutter. “It’s ok we got this” Brad said placing a kiss on my head. “His name is Edward Butera” I spoke again. The lady then typed some stuff in and then called for someone to take us to him. “Right this way” the man said, opening the door for us. I began walking down this hallway which I thought would never end. “He’s right in here” The man said, opening the door. “Thank you” Me and Brad said in sync which made the both of us smile. But that smile instantly dropped when I looked to see who was standing in the room. “Before you say anything Ari..” she began. “What the hell are you doing here?” I yelled.
