Chapter 24: “You're so cute”

As I stood in the hallway I watched the two of them intertwined their lips so passionately. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. Just last week Brad was telling me all about how he was going to break up with her. As well as last night he told me he loved me. I guess everything I have been feeling with him since I got here was all in my head as usual. “I’m such an idiot,” I said to myself. I went back into my room and grabbed my coat. I needed to go for a walk. I took a deep breath and made sure I had my keys and pushed past the both of them who were no longer kissing when I got out my room to get my coat. “Ari where are you going” I heard him yell. I hit the elevator and just my luck it opened right away. I decided that I need to stop thinking about him and worry about myself. Majority of my life I had tried to please him and show him I was enough and what he was looking for. But just like three years ago I wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t pretty enough. Or should I say hot enough

I kept walking till I ended up at the art supplies store. Maybe I could paint my frustration away and my feelings that I thought were gone away. “If it isn’t my cherry blossom” I heard a voice behind me say as I reached for a sketchbook. I turn to see Princeton there with a smile on his face. “Oh Hi” I waved at him. “Are you okay?” He tilts his head at me. I wanted to rant to him about everything but I didn’t know him like that. Also we aren’t really friends yet and I don’t like talking about my feelings because everytime I do I regret it. Just like I regretted telling Brad I had feelings for him. I regret ever bringing him into my life sometimes. But I know if he wasn’t there then I wouldn’t have had the best memories that I have ever had without him. “Hey you can tell me no judgement?” he places his hand on my shoulder. “It’s nothing really” I lied. “Oh it's a lover boy isn’t it” he laughs. “He’s not my lover boy” I rolled my eyes. “Hey you never told me what happened and why he stormed out?” He picks up an unpainted flower and hands it to me. “For my lady he bows” he says, causing me to laugh. “Thank you good sir” I play along. We both laugh.

Together we talked about painting ideas that we wanted to work on and get to know each other better. As we arrive at the cashier register he puts a hand out in front of me. “I’m paying,” He says sweetly. “I’m not a damsel in distress I can pay for my own things you” I move his arm gently. “You can be my damsel in distress” he jokes causing me to laugh. “Ok you can pay for me this one time but after that never again” I poke him in the arm. “Got  it boss lady” he smiles at me. After he pays for my things he then walks me to a cafe to get something to eat.

“Hello I’m Mack and I will be your server. How may I help you?” our waiter says while holding on to his pencil and notepad. “Have you decided what you're going to get Ari?” He says, closing his menu. That was the first time he ever called me by my name. It made me feel a little weirded out because I prefer him calling me cherry blossom than Ari because there is only one person in the world I like to call me that. "Um I'll have a breakfast wrap and pink lemonade please" I told the waiter. He quickly wrote it down. "I'll have the same except with a caramel latte instead of a pink lemonade" He says. As soon as the waiter writes our order down he flashes us a smile and walks away. “What happened to cherry blossom?” I tilt my head in confusion. “I thought I would try something new but if you prefer me to call you cherry blossom I would happily continue to” He bites his lip trying to stop himself from smiling. “You're so cute” I accidentally said out loud causing him to burst out laughing. My cheeks begin to heat up. I then playfully kick him under the table. “You're very beautiful too” He says as the waiter arrives with our food. “Here you go” Mack, our waiter says, putting our food on the table.

After we finished eating at the cafe we decided to split the chick 50/50. When I say we I mean me. I wasn’t gonna let him waste another dollar on me. Together we begin walking back to my cousin's flat. On our way we take pictures of the beautiful trees and buildings that we saw.  When we arrived at the flat I realized this is the first time Princeton has been here. Should I invite him in? A bunch of thoughts ran into my head but was interrupted by the elevator door opening. Together we walked closer and closer to the flat number. The closer we got the more nervous I was. “Would you like to come in?” I say, fishing for my keys in my pocket. “I would love to but it’s almost 2 pm. I have work in an hour” he says making the block of stress on my shoulder go away. “Ok” I say, giving him a hug goodbye. He smelled really nice. He’s arms wrapped around me like a glove but something was missing. A feeling that only one person could give me. What is wrong with me? I was in the arms of someone else and I was still thinking about him. “Oh and I meant to ask you at the party if you wanted to go…” He says as he is interrupted by the door opening. I watched Brad stare at with a smile but it was instantly dropped when he saw Princeton standing there. “Oh hey um Brad or is it Tris I can’t remember I’m not good with names” Princeton spoke up avoiding the awkward silence in the air. “It’s Brad,” he says sternly. “Well it was nice to see you again” Princeton says politely. “Could say the same about you” Brad say’s with nasty tone. I can feel the tension between them building up. “Um, thanks for walking me home,” I said, taking my art supplies from out of Princeton’s hands. “You're welcome and it was nice seeing you again” I said with a cute smile on his face. I watch Brad roll his eyes. “Anyways bye cherry blossom and it was nice to see you too Brad” he says before placing a kiss on my head and walking away.

I watched him wave at me as the elevator door closes. He was really something else. I then walked into the flat and began taking my shoes and coat off along with my shoes. As I hang up my coat I can feel Brad’s eyes on me. “What?” I look at him giving me the dirtiest look. If looks could kill I would be dead. “Are the two of you a thing?” He said, very angry. “Why do you want to know” I crossed my arms. “Just answer my question” He rolls his eyes. “Why are you fascinated by whether the two of us are a thing?” I said very sternly. He was really starting to get on my nerves. Correction: he's already been on my nerves. “Nevermind, I don’t care” He walks away. I began following him down the hallway. “What is your problem” I grabbed his arm. “Looks who's being all touchy touchy” He says with a smirk on his lips. “Stop trying to change the subject” I yell. He was really starting to annoy me with his recent behavior. “Just leave it alone” He shouts. “I’m not gonna leave it alone” I yell back. He then takes a deep breath and looks me in the face like he’s trying to read me. “What” I shout. He then grabs my arm and pulls me into his chest. “What are you do…” I try to say before he smashes his lips onto mine.

This is the end of chapter 24. I decided to male it longer since I didn't update yesterday. Thank you so much for reading. Leave a star and feedback in the comments. Thanks for the support.
