“So Tris, let us sign the papers after this, huh?” The sister Liam asked as they were dinning at the table.

“What papers?” Tris asked looking up from her plate

“Well you are coming back so just some papers to legally settle things.” She replied back shrugging

“Okay, but I was thinking, I could move back after three months.”

“What? Why?” Miranda asked handing them sweets.

“I have my graduation in three months then I can move here. Anyway can we talk later, I am really hungry”

“Yes.” The sister Liam said shaking her head at Miranda.

“Yeah maybe we should talk about TJ instead.” Ben whispered poking Tris on the side, who turned red.

“Can you stop it?” Tris whispered back.

“Only if you tell me if you….you know.” Ben started

“Yes, are you happy now? You cannot tell anybody, especially TJ.” Tris threatened him while Ben giggled annoyingly beside her.

They enjoyed the fine dinner; walked around a bit before Deb declared she was getting the car out now. Both Miranda and Liam insisted for them to stay a little while longer but Tris just smiled and promised to be back soon.

They were shuffling towards the car when the sister Liam asked Tris to stay back, and Lillian insisted on waiting with her for whatever reason it was.

Liam came back with a set of papers and laid them in front of them. “Tris, honey, I was thinking, you can just sign these papers and then you can return, whenever.” Liam said taking her hand.

“But Liam I will do it after I come back, what’s the big deal?” Tris asked but Liam shook her head, “Just sign them now, this is important Tris.” She insisted

“You are freaking me out now; just tell me what is the hurry?” Tris said folding her hand.

“I can’t, just please, sign them.” Liam said again pleadingly.

“No, Liam, come on, what is it?” This time it was Lillian who said that. She stood along Tris and insisted Liam on telling them the truth.

“Liam, tell me or I am leaving.” Tris added stubbornly

“Fine. Okay, you want to know why? Here you go. In three months you will be 18, officially an adult and then I won’t be able to get the money dad left for you, “his daughter”.” Liam roared closing her eyes.

“What money?” Tris asked taken aback

“Of course you don’t know, dad left everything, even this house, for his prettiest and favorite daughter.” Liam said laughing

“No, this cannot be true, and if it is then I am sure he must have left something for you too.” Tris said shaking her head.

“Apparently, his adopted daughter is not good enough for him.” Liam said bitterly

“Liam, if it’s about money, we can share it of course.” Tris said moving forward

“Why? Why should I share it with you? Once you sign these papers this house and all the money would be mine. Do you really think I will trade that with half share? For years I suffered in silence, watching your dad spending everything on you. Everything was about you, and me……I was just the sad, lonely adopted sister, here to take care of you because your mom died. After his death I thought I was going to be free but then I read his will and I knew what my plan was.”

“I cannot believe this. I am such a fool. Of course you are not sorry. You left me alone on purpose and now after 5 years, you are back to get my money, I am such a child. I would have given you all the money if only you were a good sister or at least a good person. But now you can go all crazy you want but I won’t give you anything. All the money will go into charity and that, my dear sister, is a promise.” Tris snapped turning to leave and offered her hand to a stunned looking Lillian.

“Well, you are pretty bold for a baby who cannot even identify her enemies and even better she lives with one.” Liam calls out clapping her hand loudly.

“What the hell does that means? Lillian is so much more that you can ever be. She is more sister to me than you.” Tris replied and beside her Lillian felt dread rising inside her. Something about the way Liam was staring at her made her sure that her secret was not save anymore. The event she dreaded all her life is going to happen soon.

“Aw, you really are a clueless child, aren’t you?” Liam said laughing evilly and walking creepily towards them.

“What do you think happened to dad huh? Was it an accident or a murder? Do you know he was shot? And do you have any idea who was the killer, any idea who shot him? Huh Tris, do you know anything about your father’s death? Five years ago, two members of the V gang, namely, Vector and Virago, came here after the death of Virago’s dad’s death and shot your father to death.” Liam said as she moved towards Tris, cornering her.

“W-what do you mean?” Tris asked shuddering.

“Five years ago, in this very house, Lillian killed your dad.”
