"Nathaniel, my least favourite Connor" a sick grin appeared on Elijah's face and I watched as Nate came forward, out of the dark.Soon, the sound of crunching footsteps filled my ears and I turned to the exact tunnel Elijah had broughten me out of, a couple of minutes earlier.
"Guys!" I shrieked, as Des, Mark, Stephen, Evan and London all broke into a run towards me. I noticed, Mr. Reed slowly walk behind them and he cleared his throat.
"STOP where you are" Elijah boomed as everyone quickly stopped in their tracks. I stared in confusion and felt dread fill my body as I felt a cold hard object press into my stomach, "She isn't going anywhere"
His sickly sweet voice filled my ears and I struggled to breath, "Isn't that right, Andrea?"
"Let her go!" Nate yelled, anger filling his voice, "Leave her alone!"
"How noble of you Nathaniel"
"Son" Mr. Reed's deep voice cut through the air and I felt Elijah's tongue dart out and touch the base of my ear, "You can stop all of this now "
I watched as everyone turned to Mr. Reed with masks of confusion but he ignored them, "You said that they were the ones that you wanted. Let Penn go"
"Wait, what?" Evan muttered turning to his dad. Mr. Reed shook his head and gritted his teeth.
"Father, you didn't fill your favorite son in on the plan you so eloquently set out?" Elijah grunted, "That's so rude"
Mr. Reed stood straight and gave Elijah a hard look, "He had no business with this until he forced himself in"
"What's going on?" Evan shrieked and Elijah tsked.
"It seems I have to explain everything" Elijah sighed, "Father doesn't trust this lot and needed a way to dispose of them, notice where they're standing versus where you and father are standing"
I slowly looked to the ground and noticed a faint red box around Nate, Des, Stephen, London, and Mark. It was so oddly shaped to cut Evan out and I watched as he backed away slowly.
"I wouldn't move if I were you" Elijah whispered staring at Mark, who had made a move to back away as well, "You'de be surprised how easy it is to create a motion controlled gun".
"You're working with him?" Evan spat at his father, who only looked away.
"They would have hurt us" Mr. Reed whispered, eyes glassy, "I can't let them hurt us"
I watched as London blinked rapidly, "You lured us down here...You knew what he was planning and you lured us down here?!?"
"I had to, I'm sorry" I took a deep gulp as Mr. Reed grabbed Evan towards him and as far from the rest of the group as possible, "Elijah, let Penn go"
My eyebrows furrowed at this, "Don't pretend like you care!"
Although my voice was tinny, everyone turned to me and I noticed the way Elijah quickly began making a beeline towards me, "He killed his wife! Evan, your dad killed your mother!"
"Elijah!" Mr. Reed shouted, anger laced in his voice, "What did you tell her?"
Elijah stared down at me with a hatred so venomous that I had to look away, cringing at the gash in my arm as an excuse.
"There's no use anymore, is there?" Elijah whispered, eyes never leaving me, "It's all already blown up, there's no use trying to pretend there's any hope"
"What is she talking about, Eli?" Evan's voice rang out next and I tried to focus on deep breathing.
Elijah shook his head and I felt something wet hit my cheek. Confused, I turned my head back to him as another wet drop hit my face. Elijah was crying.
