June 25, 1996For the rest of the day, Draco and I spent it by the pool, soaking in the golden sun. We laid in the poolside chairs, tangled up each other's arms and napped. Once we woke up, both of us heard the crickets chirping.
"Draco." I whispered, "Draco wake up."
He rubbed his eyes softly and gazed at the sky. A smile formed on his sweet face. "Did we sleep all day?"
"Yes." I replied, rubbing my fingers through his soft hair. He looked down at himself, which was bright red from the sun. "Fuck."
I began cracking up. "Vampire!"
He rolled his eyes and shoved me off the chair while I still cracked up. I innocently sat back up and rested by chin on the edge of the chair and watched him get pissed over his sunburn.
"Goddamnit!" He shouted as he sat up. "Hurts like shit."
I helplessly smiled at him. "You're a perfect mess."
His face settled as he looked at me with a soft, gentle smile. He leaned down to caress my chin and pulled my face into his, leaving a soft kiss on my lips. "Follow me." He murmured within the kiss.
We both stood up and I tagged along behind him into his house. He ran quicker ahead of me, and I giggled as I tried to keep up with him. We soon reached a huge door, behind them a tall spiral staircase. Draco and I hurried to the top. I soon discovered that it was roof access.
"What are we doing?" I asked as we both climbed onto the roof.
"Looking at the stars of course." Draco smiled back.
He led me by my hand over to a spot on the roof that was more reserve than the rest. My heart seemed to melt while he carefully laid down on the roof. This boy was absolutely everything I had ever dreamed of. I laid down next to him facing up, staring at the stars. Neither of us said a word, we just sat there in silence. We didn't need to say anything, for just each other's presence made us both feel safer than anything in the world.
I could hear a smile grow on Draco's lips from next to me. I turned to my side to face him. "Draco," I said softly, his stunning grey eyes meeting with mine. "Do you come up here often?"
"Every night. Right as I see your beautiful little self struggling to get down from your roof, I run to the woods as fast as I can to try to beat you there, and I always win." He explained, with his sweet, soft smile still across his face.
I scooted closer to him and buried my face into his warm chest and wrapped my arms around him, and he slowly rubbed my back.
"Why?" I questioned, looking up at his face above me.
"No, it's silly." The blond scoffed.
"No, tell me!" I said as I slowly traced circles on his broad chest.
"Well, the stars are pretty important to me. I was named after that constellation," He led his finger along a group of stars. "The one called Draco, duh. My mother would always take me outside in the rocking chair when I was about 3, and tell me about the stars for hours and sing to me until I fell asleep. And I guess it's just stuck with me. The stars have always been an important part in my life."
God did I try so hard to hold back tears. I was so happy that I was someone that Draco could tell absolutely anything to, because I knew he didn't always have that. Only his mother did that for him.
"Really?" I asked, perking up. "I'm named after the stars too. Estelle just means star though, nothing cool like a whole constellation."
He grabbed my hand and placed it against his chest softly. "Maybe we're destined for each other, it's written in the stars."
My heart was absolutely throbbing for him.
"Draco, we've always been destined for each other. Stars or not, we're meant for each other. I obviously brought out the good in you and you brought out the good in me. I'm so madly in love with you, and I have been since we were too young to understand. This summer, I've come to accept that sometimes the best people who come into your life are the most unexpected ones. I would've never expected for the fuckboy next door to become the boy I've always dreamed of."
Draco nudged me and laughed. "Hey, hey, hey, we don't talk about it."
A small smile grew over my lips. "But seriously Draco, you've changed my whole aspect of life. Like when we climbed that big tree, and I was terrified! Absolutely terrified but you still pushed me to do it, and I didn't regret it. And the other night, when we came home from our, um, fun night, and we almost got caught. Also terrified me, but there wasn't anyone else who I would've wanted to go through that with. And the night we sat in the pool and you confessed your love for me that you held in for years. I-I just never realized that I loved you that much, you're everything I've ever needed."
The right side of his mouth slowly lifted into a smile, and he pulled me in and kissed me, placing my head gently onto his chest.
"You deserve the world, Estelle. And I'm gonna do everything in my power to give you it."
I couldn't believe that I was the one who finally brought the good out of Draco. God, I loved him. He made me feel every emotion all at once, which all morphed into one bittersweet feeling. There was no one I could've loved more than Draco Malfoy.
He had become my world.
