Normal POV~

-A week post-war-

Throughout most of the week, Atem did nothing but help out around the Domino kingdom. Even though construction wasn't his best skill, his magic did wonders on lifting heavy structures and entertaining the kids. It wasn't a surprise to him that many people feared him and his people while they were helping. Instead, Atem accepted it and gave them as much time as they needed to see he wasn't a bad person.

"Hey, Atem, can you help me with this?" The Pharaoh hummed and let go of the wood he was holding to aid Yami.

"Of course." Yami smiled as he handed him a spare square shovel and a brick.

"Today, you'll be working with me. My father said you should take a break from doing the unnaturally heavy work all by yourself."

"It doesn't really bother me-"

"Shush, this will be more fun... and messier." The younger male grinned and gently pulled him down alongside him. Atem found himself smiling back, unable to ignore the fact that he'll indeed be having more fun gluing bricks together. It was most likely because he's going to spend time with his beloved. And that's a big win.

King Sugoroku drew in a long sigh after he spread order after order. He felt the need to sit down or have his wife massage his shoulders, only she was able to make him less tense. He opted for option one, however, since his wife was counseling the people who unfortunately lost a child or spouse.

Those poor parents who had to carry their kin to the graveyard and sob while burying them.

There was a lot of trauma surrounding the Kingdom, most of them will heal over time, but others would have to suffer for the rest of their life. He cursed at Aknamkanon, hoping that he suffers greatly wherever he's at.

His thoughts drifted to the Millennium kingdom's new Pharaoh. Atem wasn't a bad King for his age. The kid was only eighteen years old, and he acted rather maturely when it came to ruling. Sure, there were a few touching ups to do considering he was young, and young rulers usually make mistakes at times, but he was still a decent king. It was astonishing to him that he didn't act at all like his father and more like, well, not Aknamkanon.

Throughout the week, he kept a close eye on his son and Atem whenever they were together. It was... surprising to see how they acted with one another. Yami was rebellious and stubborn when they last saw him, and heck, he still seems like it. But with the Pharaoh, he let his walls down and shows the affection he and his wife craved to have. The Pharaoh was sweet and gentle towards his son. Loving. It surprised him even further when he realized the man validated his son's every opinion. And whatever Yami spoke about, he listened with great interest.

"My liege, are you feeling all right?" Sugoroku snapped out of his thoughts and looked up at a worried guard.

"Mhmm, just a bit tired, that's all." The King stood up and patted some dirt off his trousers.

"Where to next?"

"Down in the village, sire, they requested for your help."

"How are the people over at your Kingdom doing? Are Mana, Mahado, and everyone else okay?" Yami asked randomly while they were making some more cement.

"Everyone's doing fine for the most part. Although, Mana wants to wham our heads with a book for not telling her that you're the prince of Domino. Ironically, Mahado didn't have a problem with you being from Domino. He had a problem with us not telling them about it." Atem chuckled at Yami's sudden worried look.
