Again, again, and again. I woke up late.

I had a bad feeling. After got out of the car, I rushed into the office, pressing the elevator button repeatedly.

C'mon, I'm late.

It was worse than my last ten minutes late. I was nearly twenty-five minutes late for sure.

I'm in big trouble.

I was waiting for the elevator. It took a long time to go down. I cursed. The sound of the elevator beside me invited my eyes to take a look. The door opened, Alex came out from inside.

He's gonna kill me.

"Good morning, Miss Clay. You look like you're in a hurry, don't you think?" He raised his eyebrow.

I stuttered confused what to said.

"I've been told by the others that you like being late. Not very professional I see. Here I'll tell you, business world doesn't need people like you, we need people who really want to work, have responsible, and move forward."

I was speechless not because of his words.

His sharp gaze, enough to made me see myself in his eyes. His face looked tired still his hair is neatly combed. Both of his hands were in the pockets of his pants. He was wearing a dark blue tuxedo, made him more manly.

"Are you done checking me out?"

I snapped out of my mind, dazed.

I didn't realize when we were get to close. He surprised me with his next move. I felt his hand on my head and ruffled my hair gently. I felt like a puppy.

As I wanted to open my mouth to comment Alex fell right on my body. My smaller body tried to hold his body but wasn't so strong enough, so I shouted for help. Kaiden and his friends who just came in immediately helped me. I saw them take him straight to the hospital.

I was so worried about Alex's condition, he was completely unconscious. I debated with myself to came along or stay at the office.

Kaiden said that I was really shocked, so it's better for me to go back to my room and take a rest. He'd handle and contact Alex's family.

So, I just followed his instruction. When I got upstairs, everybody asked me how's Alex.

I didn't expect this news to spread so quickly.

Clara told everybody to stop asking me questions, because I was still shocked and scared. Clara also accompanied me all day in my room. She even did her paperwork in my room. She didn't wanna leave me alone.

I kept waiting for the latest news from the hospital or from Kaiden. It's been almost four hours but still nothing.

I was told that there was a guest who wanted to meet me and waited for me. I saw Mia came to pick me up, to the hospital. Along the way, my lips trembled. At that time I didn't understand why I was so afraid to lose him. Mia also didn't say anything she just told me that Diksi and Rio were already there.

Until there, we ran down the corridor to room number 14. The closer my steps were to that room, the more I wanted to stop my steps. I saw Rio and Diksi standing outside the room, stared at us. Mia hold my hand and whispering, "Everything's gonna be okay."

I peeked through the door. Alex used the hose to breathe, still unconcious, with his parents next to him. I followed the others waiting outside to give his parents their time.

I was dumbfounded, then looked at Diksi and Rio. "What the doctor said?"

Rio wanted to answer me but stopped when he looked at Diksi's gaze. The atmosphere around us became tense. "He said, Alex was tired and didn't get enough rest." Mia interrupted.

The sound of the opened door made us stand up and greeted Alex's parents.

"Thank you for come here." Alex's mother is very beautiful in her elderly age.

His father seemed to recognize me, because he immediately asked me how Alex was in the office and other office matters. I didn't understand, his son in bad condition and he still had time to ask me to talk about this.

Sadly, Alex's parents had business to attend. No wonder, Alex has always been naughty boy.

We all went inside, I took Alex's right hand. His hand so warm and soft. I touched his scorpion tattoo that I have seen. What does this mean?

I left the room, chose to wait outside. Mia accompanied me, while Rio and Diksi were busy completing administration and talked to the doctor.

"If you and Diksi here, then who's gonna take care of Benard?" I looked at Mia.

"My mom." I nodded in understanding. My mind was ringing to Rio's face, which I wasn't so sure that he wasn't crying. I could see his red eyes. Unfortunately, he already wiped his tears before I came.

I decided not to go back to the office, I waited at the hospital. I told Diksi and Mia to go home and rest. They have a baby, they already tired enough. At first they refused, but after Rio convinced them again. They agreed. Mia seems like she couldn't bear to leave me alone.

Alex is still as famous as he used to be. His friends kept coming to visit him, they brought flowers for him. I was overwhelmed to greet them. Agness also came earlier, she looked panicked and wanted to wait here too. But, Rio forbade her. She's still in college and she had an exam next day. She couldn't fail or Alex would be disappointed.

Rio really cares about Agness.

I sat next to Rio contemplating with our own thoughts.

"It's been a long time, Laura."

I smiled faintly, "Yeah."

"I was really shocked when I found out you were work with Alex."

We told each other life after graduation. We even talked about when we were in the same class. It is a wonderful time to meet old friends again.

Until it already seven in the evening. Rio went to buy food for the two of us, so I went into the room to check on Alex. I was shocked when I saw Alex sitting down.

"What are you doing?" I approached him and held his face, telling myself he was all right. I forced him to rest again, but he said he was okay.

"Do you want me to call the doctor?" He shook his head, "Do you want to eat?" He shook his head, "Do you want to drink?" He could definitely see how worried I was.

He shook his head again. "Do you need something else?" I asked while holding his right arm. "Are you feeling better?" He nodded. "What--"

Alex pulled my hands, made me stand right between his thighs, my cheeks flushed. "You don't have to worry, Laura. I'm fine."

Alex looked up at my face, I looked back at him. We were silent just staring at each other. I never wanted this moment to end.

His hands wrapped around my waist brought me closer to his body. I could feel the warmth in his embrace. His eyes never left mine. I bit my lower lip, made him swallow hard.

His eyes stared at my lips with a defiant look. His face slowly drew closer and--

"I brought the foods." Rio opened the door and showed the parcel in his hands. His mouth opened seeing the position of me and Alex.

My face heated up, I pushed Alex's body and went to the toilet. I rinsed my face with water then stared at the mirror to see my cheeks were so red.

What was that? This can't be happening, I can't fall for his charm.

So many fish in the lake didn't know I was bait, but I am.
