Chapter 24: Final Masquerade pt.2

Deidara didn't know what to do. Was Naruto dead? Did they get there to late? What will Sasuke do? 

'Naruto.... please don't do this to me....' Deidara thought

 "C'mon Naruto... I need a fucking heartbeat"

~~~Present~~~My POV~~~ 

Sirens are heard. Sasuke cries and holds Naruto close as he is in the ambulance. There was so much going on. He wasn't able to process the thought of Naruto being gone. He couldn't help but blame himself. He blamed himself for everything. Kiba blamed himself for letting him fight alone in the first place. Sasuke blamed himself for not being there when he needed it most.

Sasuke held on to Naruto for dear life as Itachi clawed him away from the blond. Everyone cried as Naruto was taken away from them into the ambulance. Sasuke couldn't process anything. Naruto was dead for all they knew. He was taken to the nearest hospital.

~~~Later at the Hospital~~~ 

It has been at least 6 hours since Naruto was brought to the hospital. Everyone was in the waiting room waiting for the news from the doctors. 

Sasuke paced around the room as the doctor came into the area. Sasuke looks at the doctor with puffy red eyes and a tear stained face.

"Is anyone here waiting for the news on Mr. Uzumaki?"  The doctor asked

At that moment Sasuke stopped pacing around the room and stopped in front of the doctor. He looked at him with worry and a lot of question written on his face. Anyone could tell that Sasuke hasn't gotten any rest at all. Around his eyes were dark and he also had small bags forming under them. He was tired and needed all the rest he could get. 

"Y-yea.... We are.. Please... Is he ok?" Sasuke asked with teary eyes

"I'm sorry but I can't tell you whether or not he'll be fine... He is pretty banged up." The doctor says with sadness

"What can you tell us then?" 

"Well... He has many injuries such as: 3 broken ribs, a broken arm and leg, peirced lung, bruises are everywhere on him, he has a concussion..... and he's also in a coma."

Sasuke was shocked as he heard these injuries. His eyes were wide and his body started to shake. He couldn't control himself. Itachi noticed and brought him into a hug as he dropped to his knees and cried into his older brothers shoulder. 

"I'm sorry to say this but we've done everything to keep him alive but we can't do much more.... It's up to him if he wants to go on.." 

Itachi was strong for Sasuke. He held him close comforting him. Kiba had free tears running down his eyes as he watched Sasuke break down. Neither Kiba, Shikamaru, Deidara or Itachi has ever seen Sasuke so broken. It was surprising to know Sasuke could become so.......... vulnerable. 

"Can.....can we see him?" Kiba asked as his voice was little bit above a whisper while he was still looking at Sasuke

"Only one person can see him for right now... There is a lot of things in the room and we don't want it to become crowded... So who is it gonna be?"

Everyone looked at Sasuke who was silently crying into Itachi's shoulder. The room was quiet until Sasuke's tears stopped flooding his brothers shoulders. Itachi pushed him up a bit to look at his face and gave him a sad look. A look that he was pretty sure he couldn't pull off but did anyway to give his brother comfort. 

Sasuke stood up and looked at the doctor with a nod. The doctor lead him to Naruto's room and left him alone at the door. Sasuke hesitated for a minute before putting his hand on the door knob and twisted it open. 

He pushed the door open and he stepped in. He was shocked at what he saw. Naruto looked horrible. The only sound that was heart was the heart meter giving Naruto's heart rate. Naruto had a breathing tube to help him breathe. There was a cast on his arm and another on his leg. The worst part was the fact that Naruto's skin complexion wasn't its normal color. His body was covered in bruises and it was a pale color. 

Sasuke once again had free tears running down his face as he looked at his blonde. He walked by Naruto's side and sat in a chair next to the hospital bed. He placed his hand on Naruto's small one and held it. As he watched his blonde lay in that hospital bed immobile. Sasuke stared at him. He placed his hand on his cheek and rubbed it a softly. He then started to talk to him. 

"Hey Naruto..... I miss you a lot.. I'm sorry I wasn't there to save you but I promise that you have nothing else to worry about. I handled it and ended his crazy games for good.." Sasuke had hurt in his voice. He couldn't stand the fact Naruto was like this. He was so helpless and he couldn't do anything to help at all.

"Naruto....please..I need you to stay alive...don't go without me....Promise me you won't..I need you in my life... I need to see your smile everyday.. I need to know that you love me everyday... I need you to know that I love you... Naruto please.. Give me a sign.. do something...please" 

Sasuke pleaded and begged. He was afraid. Afraid of his love dying. Afraid of loosing Naruto. Afraid of being alone. He didn't have anything else to live for. Naruto was his love. His mind. His heart.  His soul. His body. His everything. 

He loves Naruto with his body, heart, and soul to death. 

"Naruto please do something....let me know you're listening to me...do something"  

Right then, Naruto lifted his finger that was placed in Sasuke's hand. Sasuke felt it and looked at Naruto's small hand. 

Sasuke was happy. He was happy that Naruto was listening to him. He was happy that Naruto decided to stay with him. He was just happy. He smiled and leaned down kissing Naruto gently on his small pale lips.

Sasuke smiled and kissed him once more. 

He looked at the time and noticed visiting hours had been over. He gave Naruto one last glance and walked towards the door. He opened the door and the moment he stepped out he heard his named being called.
