Nathanial's POV:
17th CenturyAs the morning sun rose clearing away the darkness; Nathanial made his way back to the estate. He left the meeting behind him and he was ready to live as the human known as Nathanial Wilson. The Observer must stay within his inner dark cave of Nathanial. Nathanial opened the gates of the servents and helped Rasco enter through the gates. Nathanial patted Rasco as they walked toward the stables. The other horses stood up and neighed as Nathanial walked in. In the far back Manson was busy milking a cow.
"Son it's good that you came back before Hover returned. But, where were you?" Manson asked as Nathanial arrived at the stable. Nathanial tied Rasco back in his stall. He gave Rasco a pat on the back and fed him his food. Manson stood there near Nathanial watching in silence. Nathanial looked at Manson and gave him a reassuring smile. He hoped that would be enough but Manson stood there waiting for an answer.
"Old man I had some work back in the city, but I did promise I would be back to work so lets work," Nathanial said as he began to walk to the haystack and began to carry the food for the rest of the horses in the stable. Manson just stood there watching him, but later on admitted defeat and began to work alongside Nathanial.
"Son you do remember that this girl will be arriving pretty soon right," Manson said as he worked beside him. Nathanial began to recall what Manson mentioned the previous day. Lady Clarkson's niece was supposed to arrive today and Manson and he was in charge to welcome her. Welcoming people wasn't his thing, in fact, he was known more as a person who says goodbye to others. Goodbyes and Nathanial are synonyms to one another. However, when you work for someone, guess you have to do what you have to do. Manson stopped working and turned towards him. Nathanial knew what Manson will try to convince him of.
"Why don't you look for someone for yourself. You are a young lad, you have a good job. Maybe finding yourself a good girl will fix that look on your face." Manson said. Nathanial coughed in response. Marriage, the idea of two human being coming together in happiness. But does this union always lead to happiness. Nathanial brushed away the thought.
"Yeah old man I am learning from the best," Nathanial replied instead. Manson, shook his head and went back to his work. Manson didn't know that Nathanial was different than most guys his age,... and love was never meant for him and he wasn't repeating the mistake of his past. Myra, a name that defied his vow, and such a mistake should not be repeated twice. Only the memories held by her name, remains as his pain.
"If you two are done slaking off then get back to work. Nathanial, take this lock and close the estate gates. I don't care what mother says I don't want no new mouth to feed." Sir Clarkson said as he approached them from behind. He threw a heavy lock toward Nathanial way and he caught it with ease. Hover was totally drunk; Nathanial knew last night he had a drink or two with Sir Desen. Nathanial was about to head toward the gates when Manson stopped him.
"Hover, before we work for you, we work for your mother Lady Clarkson. So it is to our best advantage we follow Lady Clarkson's orders before we listen to you." Manson finished while Hover glared back at him. Humans are so amusing sometimes, always finding a way to downcast one another. Nathanial stood there watching the display of Manson and Clarkson's, after all, he wasn't created to take sides, but only to watch.
"Manson my mother won't always be around and the day I get my hands on the property, you do know you have to listen to me." Hover just about had it, but for Manson, he was no match especially when he is drunk. Within few minutes he was on the floor unconscious. Manson looked back at Nathanial as if disappointed, Manson really wanted a fight with Hover and be done with Hover once and for all. Manson left leaving Nathanial with Hover. Nathanial realized he has to be the one who to carry Hover inside. He picked up Hover to carry him to the house when Nathanial heard a rustling noise from afar. The next minute Nathanial was on top of a stranger covered in a black cloak.
