Chapter 12. Kellin.

Kellin could hear Cady talking with her dad. He didn't know what they were saying, though. He couldn't get his mind off the toaster. You were so stupid... How could you do that to mom? She was all you had! He thought to himself. I have Cady now! We're in love. I don't know what I'll do if i lose her... I'll have absolutely no one. He argued with himself. "Kellin." She heard Cady's voice beckon to him. He looked up from the floor he'd been staring at while his head argued with itself. He turned his body to face Cady who was already behind him. "C'mon, my dad's coming to pick us up and take us back to my house." Cady motioned for him to follow her out the office door and into the lobby of their high school.

Kellin followed her and they sat down on the wooden bench set up in the small room with glass double doors in the front and back. Kellin hands were folded in his lap. Cady slipped her hand into the one of his that was closest to her and held it, their fingers interlocked. He scooted closer to her, so their shoulders were pressed against eachothers. Their hands were settled perfectly in the middle of their legs as they were pressed against eachother as well as the one whole side of their bodies. Even one of each of their foots were intermingled with the other's. Cady rested her head on Kellin's shoulder. He rested his head on top of hers.

"Cady?" Kellin began. Neither of them moved from their position. "Why does God despise the fact that I exist?" He sobbed hard again as Cady rested her other hand on the side of  Kellin's neck that wasn't adjacent to the top of her head and stroked the straight black hair of his, covering that spot.

"He doesn't, Kellin. Don't say that." her voice quivered as she was about to cry again.

Kellin picked his head up off Cady's and looked at her, still holding her hand. "Then why can't my life just be easy like everyone else's? Why does he have to make it hard like this?" His tears rolled off his blushing face and onto the top of their hands.

She looked up at him, smiling. "Because he knows you're strong enough to handle it." Tears rolled down her face and landed in the same area as Kellin's had.

He smiled and freed his hand from hers. "I love you, Cady Johnson. I always  have, I always will." He cried tears of joy as he hugged her. She hugged him back when he stopped talking. They sat there, hugging for what seemed an eternity. Both their eyes were closed which helped with the lack of tears. Kellin felt Cady tap him on his back with her forefinger. He pulled away from what, to the both of them, was the best hug ever and he saw Cady pointing at the hallway next to the back of the school's lobby. All that was separating the hallway and the lobby was a set of glass double doors. He turned and saw a crowd of students gathered at the double doors, staring in at them. Most were laughing, the others were snapping pictures of them with their phones.

Kellin stood up and opened the double doors. The crowed backed up with one fluent motion. They all fell silent when Kellin started to yell. "WHAT'S SO FUNNY? HUH? YOU'VE ALL NEVER SEEN TWO PEOPLE IN LOVE BEFORE? CLEARLY YOU ALL HAVEN'T! GET BACK TO YOUR CLASSES, ALL OF YOU!" All the students just stood there, their mouths open with shock. "NOW!" Kellin stomped his foot on the linoleum floor and the crowd scattered. He stepped back and shut the double doors. When he turned back around to return to the bench, there stood Cady and her father. So much for making a good first impression. Kellin thought.
