Rey was exhausted. Her head lolled into Amie's lap and the muscles of her face relaxed as her friend stroked her hair, releasing the tension from the night before. Rey had forced herself to stay up until dawn, taking care of her roommate who had come home a drunken mess, and the lack of sleep had left herself feeling very drowsy.Rey lifted her head for a moment and her eyes found Kylo immediately, who seemed to have been looking at her already, an irate glare written across his face. She flashed him an exaggerated wink, before turning her attention to the front of the classroom, where her professor was speaking.
"Right, class." He said, grinning ear to ear and clasping his hands together. "Now, today is the day you've all been waiting for! I'm sure you'll all be very excited to hear that today you get your costumes fitted!"
Rey had completely forgotten about costumes. Usually the starring actors and actresses would just wear their own clothes on the day of the show. She had to admit that she was rather excited to see what her costume would be. According to her knowledge, the women in Twelfth Night wore beautiful, lavish gowns complete with swishy lace and tight fitting corsets.
As soon as her teacher had finished speaking, Rey was almost instantly swept out of her seat and dragged towards the dressing rooms.
"I have been waiting for this moment for so long!" The girl beside Rey squealed, pushing her gently into a quilted armchair, situated in front of a large mirror.
"Why, may I ask?" Rey said as she watched the girl fumble around with a tape measure.
"Because you're Rey Miller! You're a phenomenal actress who I admire greatly! I've wanted to dress you ever since I saw you perform last year." She said, carefully wrapping the tape measure around Rey's bicep. "I'm Charlotte, by the way."
"It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Oh, no. The pleasure is all mine." Charlotte said, now sifting through a long rack of plastic-wrapped clothes, eventually pulling one out once she reached the end.
Rey pointed to the sealed garment in Charlotte's hand. "What's that?"
"This is your costume." She said, laying it across Rey's lap. "Go on, open it!"
Rey tore a long slit down the translucent plastic with her fingernail, eager to know what was waiting for her underneath.
After slicing through the plastic and disregarding it onto the ground beside her, Rey held the costume up in front of her by its hanger, getting a closer look.
It was beautiful. Rey could hardly believe what she was seeing. It was a peach coloured gown made of soft, satiny fabric, long and loose, accompanied by a pair of matching satin gloves. It was cinched in all the right places and a semicircular, high collar made of silk-like materials headed the floor-length robe.
"Try it on, then!" Charlotte said, wriggling with anticipation.
After removing her hoodie and shoes, Rey was left in nothing but her undergarments. She stepped into the dress carefully, looping her arms through the right holes and letting the creamy sheets of the silk dress slip onto her shoulders and pepper her body with soft, sensual kisses.
Charlotte looked as if she was close to tears."Wow. You look amazing."
Rey smoothed out the gown and lifted her gaze to stare into the mirror before her. She really did look amazing. Regal, even. Her pale-pink dress of semi-embroidered fabric accentuated her thin waist, hugged her hips, and flared out a bit. She slipped her hands into the dainty gloves and used them to sweep off any excess dust clinging onto her attire.
