The pain seared into his brain, the memory of that fateful day still strong and fresh, like a new battle scar.
The disabled Thanagarian leaned against the wall of the alleyway he managed to take shelter in ever since coming to Earth and struggled to get some decent sleep, his whole right side of his body in agony. He hated everything about Earth, he hated the people, he hated it all! He wanted to go back to his homeworld of Thanagar and prove his worth again. But, no; the leader of Thanagar just had to exile him because of his injuries! It isn't fair! he thought to himself angrily. He breathed in and let out a shaky sigh, jerking.
The memory was coming back...
"That's right! Flee you disgusting reptiles! Cower before the mighty Thanagarians!"
The last of the Gordanians that he and his brother were dealing with all hissed at the two and scurried away. He puffed out his chest and smirked, laughing. He was letting his cockiness get the better of him. Ever since he had been promoted commander in chief of the Thanagarian army, he had fought Gordanians on the daily alongside his brother. "That'll teach those cowards not to mess with us ever again!"
"Goldwath, behind you!"
The Thanagarian, Goldwath, turned to the direction of his brother shouting at him, confused. He felt something latch onto his right wing, muscles tearing. Howling in pain, he turned around and bared his teeth in anger; it was a small Gordanian, claws and teeth dug deep into the wing muscle. Goldwath had tried his hardest to get the small reptilian off of him.
"GOLDWA--- AGH!!!"
He turned around to see a duo of Gordanians pile on his brother, which enraged him. The smaller Gordanian pulled Goldwath to the ground and began to dig its claws into his arm, tearing open flesh and causing blood to pool everywhere. In the process as well, his mask had been knocked off him, sent flying and hitting the ground far away all without a crack. Goldwath panted heavily at the surprisingly strong opponent and managed to jerk his head to his brother and shout one final thing at him.
"Run, Amberwath! RUN! GET REINFORCEMENTS!!"
His right eye was suddenly clouded in red.
As he turned back to the Gordanian, it had lashed out its claws straight into Goldwath's eye, effectively blinding him in blood. The pain was too much for the Thanagarian and he began to feel faint, giving in the Gordanian's strength.
"Goldwath!!! Gah- Get off, you stupid reptiles!"
Everything blurred from then on...
"AH!"
Goldwath jolted awake from his nightmare, his heart hammering in his chest. He bent his head down and tried to catch his breath, quick, short breaths. Always it was the same nightmare; always, it was the nightmare of that day that haunted him more than his removal from commander in chief role and sent to be exiled to Earth. His right arm jerked in response, making him collapse with a whine.
He was in so much pain...
That stupid little reptile ruined my life!
He was so angry.
These Earthlings are going to suffer my wrath! I'll make them feel my pain! Make them experience what I had to go through!
He laid his head down on his only good arm and closed his eyes, awaiting for the first sign of sunlight of the new day to make his move...
