1. What exactly is In the Golden Light?

A: In the Golden Light is a Justice League AU I created around early 2020 when I got back to watching the Justice League animated series, which was my childhood.

2. What is the AU about/Is there a backstory to this AU?

A: The story I had developed for this AU is that Batman was dealing with the Joker upon discovering a plan of his. He almost stopped him, however, Joker manages to successfully put his plan into action and transforms everyone into animals. This included the Justice League as well. The AU, set in events before Hawkgirl and Green Lantern's kiss and the Thanagarian invasion in the season finale, tells a story a story of one of my Justice League OCs, Goldwath, an exiled and disabled Thanagarian, who becomes an honorary member of the Justice League. In this story, he begins to develop a crush on Hawkgirl, which does get reciprocated, however something happens in Act 2 that later becomes a struggle for him as he develops feelings for another one of my OCs of mine: Princess Lazuli, the next heir to the City of Atlantis. You will learn more about Princess Lazuli in Act 2!

Some Fun Facts

1. Goldwath's scar over his eye that is shown when unmasked is based off of Hro Talak's scar. 

2. Princess Lazuli's human variant (designed by Pearl) references Mera's (wife of Aquaman in the series) appearance. 

3. In this AU, Atlanteans have both an Atlantean form (which is a mermaid form) and a land form.
