The sky appeared dark, and the wind was icy. Jahseh still held on to the steering wheel, eyes extremely heavy. When he felt himself feeling a little more tired, he drank the cold coffee that rested in the cup holder within his car.

As Jahseh drove against the bumpy road, Milo laid fast asleep at the backseat not seeming to pay any attention to the journey. Jahseh couldn't keep himself awake, but he had to force himself to. Further down the road, he spotted a bright light.

The closer his car got, the more he could read out the building ahead. A sigh of relief left his mouth when he spotted Mcdonald's. He drove into the drive through, going forward to the window.

"Hello sir what would you like to order?" a woman asked through the speaker. "3 dark coffees, 2 egg bacon McGriddles and hash browns please." he lazily spoke.

"Okay! And is that it?"
"Yeah." he mumbled, and before she could speak he drove forward.

Seeing a hispanic McDonald's worker standing at the window. She reached forward handing him his food, him grabbing it and paying with his card. "Thank you." he said, stepping on the gas and driving away.

Jahseh heard groans behind him as he was finding a place to park. As he drove searching, Milo began waking up. Jahseh groaned, feeling slightly bad due to her awakening.

They were close to where they needed to be, but Jahseh was exhausted and hungry. Stopping the car near a dog park, he leaned against the seat. "Jahseh?" he turned around facing her. "You good?" he asked.

Milo nodded, rubbing her eye and sitting up. "Where are we?" she questioned, reaching for the Mcdonald's bag. "Tallahassee."

"Talleh- oh my god Jahseh!" she exclaimed, waking her up slightly. Milo banged her hand against his seat. "Why the fuck are we here? Where are we going Jahseh?"

He sat there silently, looking outside the window. "We are going to see-"

"Who are we going to see Jahseh?" she interrogated, leaning forward. It was as if Milo already knew the answer, she was just waiting to see if Jahseh had the guts to tell her.

She ran her fingers through her hair, grabbing onto the sides of her arms that rested on her knees.
"Yo' dad."

Milo's eyes squinted in extreme disappointment. She huffed out, leaning back into her car seat. Jahseh made choices that Milo found insanely irritating. It seemed to her as if he didn't care about the fear and hatred she possessed for her father.

It appeared to Milo that Jahseh was purposely ignoring the traumas and issues that her father impacted onto her family. The pain and heart ache he applied onto her mother. The terror her mother sat in when he found their location.

Now Milo is here, swept up all in the name of her father. All of this being expressed to Jahseh and he didn't seem to budge.

As much as Jahseh cared about the way Milo felt, he knew that she didn't seem to understand the position he'd be put in if he didn't go through with what was asked of him. Even though the care he had for her made him feel uncomfortable due to the foreignness of it all, he still couldn't jeopardise his safety.

"Milo eat yo food. Now." he demanded, tiredly handing her the McDonald's bag. She peered at it for a few seconds before snatching it out of his hand. "Don't take that shit from me like that bruh."

"Why the fuck are you taking me there?!" she disputed. "Milo sit the fuck down and eat yo fuckin food bruh. Fuckin relax."

Jahseh remained lackadaisically sat, looking at his window. Outside was still dark and he could tell it was still early hours of the morning. His eyes began to sink, but he continued to fight it.

The car remained silent, still parked by this dog park. Milo bit into her hash brown, still slightly annoyed. She suspired lazily. "How long has it been since you've slept?"

Jahseh groaned "Mm, ion know. Yesterday?"
"What time..Jahseh?" "5:00pm?"

Milo lowered the half bitten hash brown from her mouth. "You haven't slept since then?" she ask, concern laced all in her voice. Jahseh hummed, indicating a yes.

The severity of it all sunk in. She peered at the coffee cups scattered across the car seat next to him. This opened Milo's eyes to how on game Jahseh wanted to be. This was probably something really serious to him.

Knowing the amount of power that Milo's father adapted, she knew that he could make anyone he wished disappear. Being under that control could be slightly damaging, especially if the job assigned to Jahseh was not done right.

Milo's intention were not to put Jahseh in trouble, but swallowing that pill just to see her father for his sake just didn't seem possible to her. Her trust in Jahseh seemed to be diminishing. Things like this being done behind her back just didn't seem right to her.

She needed time to mentally prepare.

"I don't know why you didn't tell me before you decided to make all these fuckin choices." she quietly spoke. Jahseh huffed "You don't gotta know everything Milo."

Milo took another hungry bite out of the food bought for her. "When it pertains to me, yeah I do."

Jahseh let out a small chuckle. "Milo there just some things you don't gotta know. You gotta sit this one out, for real."

Milo sat back, placing the McDonald's bag next to her. She sighed. "I can't trust you Jahseh." she admitted. Jahseh softly shook his head in disappointment. "You be doin shit randomly, no warning no nothing. Like you don't know the shit that man has done to us yo."

His body seemed to be sinking more into the seat he sat in. "I know about all the shit he's done. You don't gotta trust me on nun else. But trust me, you can rely on me to protect yo ass."
