Never be angry

You walk faster as you hear her footsteps behind you. You know she's following you, though you told her not to.

She catches up with you as you turn the corner.
"Y/N..." Her voice sounds so small!
"I told you to let me go."
"I know... I'm sorry?"
You sigh and stop.
"No you're not. You say you're sorry, and then you go back and do the same things over again."
Nat thinks for a minute and you know she knows its true.

"What if I left it?"
"Left what?" You lean on the concrete wall.
"Everything. The Avengers."

As tempting as that sounds, you can't make her leave it all. Its her life, after all.
"...no. You can't."

"I will. For you. I... I love you, Y/N."
You start and look up at her. Its the first time she's said it.
"...you love me..?"

Nat realises what she just let slip and turns  a bright shade of pink. Then she pulls herself together.
"Yes. Yes I do."
"Tasha..."
"I do, Y/N," she says and takes your hand. Her fingers are cold. She pulls you into an embrace, her head resting on your shoulder.

You lean into her a little, breathing in her comforting scent.
"I love you too, Nat."

You feel her smile into your shoulder as you confess.
"Good to know."

You don't know how long you stand there like that. All you know is that you aren't angry anymore when she pulls away.

"Now you wanna sulk some more or come back home with me?"
"I think I'll come back now," you grin.

She sneaks a kiss on your cheek as you walk back and rolls her eyes as you blush a little.

"Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N! We've been together for almost a year now! How much longer before you stop blushing when I kiss you?"

You just shake your head and lead the way.
