It was odd to be sitting in Julian's classroom with him at the front again.

Even though I had still been attending classes, trying to keep up with my studies with everything going on around me, it felt different.

Julian took a few days off to recuperate after his time in the hospital...and everything that led up to it. While I told him to take more time off, he refused anything more than a week. He said he couldn't stand not doing anything. He missed teaching, and I could tell he was getting restless at the apartment.

I had been spending a lot of time there with Julian when I wasn't in classes. We would watch movies with Ezra and Caleb, play board games. Julian showed me how to bake before things got...messy. I slept curled against Julian, breathing him in before being unable to resist him any longer. I was being pampered with all the time we were spending together, but Julian had become more overwhelmed with nothing to do than going out into the world and living his life again.

We would be going back to my hometown in only two days for Thanksgiving. Julian was nervous to meet my parents, and I was nervous to meet with Brooke. This normalcy of school was a good distraction.

Though it wasn't as good a distraction as watching Julian move around at the front of the classroom.

Caleb sat on one side of me, Key on the other. I kept my hands in my lap, slouched over enough that I hoped neither could tell the situation I had going on.

I was hard, in the middle of class, from just staring at my professor as he taught. I was obviously always attracted to him, the prospect of him being a teacher and I a student also helped in that equation. Back then, I had only my fantasies to play off of––my wants and needs and instincts to just be with Julian. And now that I have been, and will always be...it was a whole knew kind of ache.

I had left before Julian was finished getting ready, having to meet with the football team before classes started this morning. So when Julian texted me before class started that he hoped I would enjoy the day, and that he might have a surprise for me, I knew exactly what he was doing.

And he was doing it so well.

I gripped my wrist tightly with my other hand, eyes narrowing on Julian's ass as he turned to fetch something from his desk. It was a stack of papers that he asked a few students to pass out. His eyes briefly locked with my own before he looked away as if nothing happened.

Right. Nobody could know about us.

I gritted my teeth, hating that I couldn't scream from the rooftop that Julian Mason was mine. But one day, I will, I could almost guarantee it.

"I want this finished by the end of Thanksgiving break. On my desk Monday morning. It will be more than enough time so I won't accept any late papers."

Caleb handed me a stack. I reached a hand to grab them when his eyes lowered. Caleb smirked, meeting my eyes again as he raised a brow. I just glared back at him, taking one of the stapled assignments before passing them to Key. Caleb giggled from beside me and I elbowed him.

"Alright, that's it for today. Remember to finish the book and the assignment by Monday. Have a great break though!" Julian smiled at everyone, turning to another student who had approached him.

Caleb stood, shoving the papers into his backpack and shouldering it. "Oh, Key, will you help me with an art thing?"

She stood as well, tugging on the strap of her bag as she nodded to Caleb. "Sure, you know how much I love art things."

Caleb rolled his eyes, turning to follow Key out of the classroom. He stopped on the other side of me, bending slightly to whisper to me where I still sat, "I'm assuming you're staying?"
