The smell of dust and dirt and wood is what woke me first. Then the blinding light hitting my face. I blinked against it before squinting my eyes open to try to figure out where I was.

It looked like an abandoned cabin. The wood floors worn and uneven. The walls were a little more kept, but not much better. There was a small kitchen area on the other side of the room, a table and two chairs beside it. The twin sized bed I lay on was more like a large and flat rock. How someone could sleep here...how I was laying on this for however long...

There were a few windows on the walls, but most of them were boarded up. All the light was coming through a hole close to the ceiling on the opposite side of the room and through the window on the door to my right.

I pushed myself to sit up, but everything grew fuzzy and started to spin. I kept myself propped up while the feeling passed and everything became focused again. There wasn't any distinguishing features about the room, nothing to hint at what could be going on.

But I knew exactly what was happening and who had taken me.

I was about to stand up and explore the cabin when I heard the steps out front creak. The door squeaked open and my heart dropped at the man that swaggered in.

"Hello, Gabriel. It's been a long time."

I couldn't stop shaking.

I couldn't even move from my position on the bed.

I couldn't do anything.

Phineas Malone, the man I once loved who abused me everyday we were together, was at the stove cooking something. Neither of us has said anything else since he walked in a little bit ago. He just ignored me while I couldn't stop fucking shaking.

It was another five minutes later when Phineas set a plate of cut up chicken and some cooked vegetables on the table.

"Eat," He said, nodding to the plate.

I didn't move, just kept staring at him with wide eyes.

"Eat it," He commanded, dragging a chair from the table for me to sit. And it was those long lost instincts that set me moving, rushing to the chair and sitting down, shoveling the food into my mouth. It was only then that I realized how hungry I was. Phineas set down a glass of water in front of me, and I gulped that down too.

There wasn't anything going through my mind right now. Or there was, but it was just too fast and too much to comprehend at this point.

Phineas Malone.

I couldn't even begin to think how he found me. I knew he did weeks ago when that letter came to me. And the phone calls. And more threatening letters. I just tried to ignore them, hoping if I didn't give it attention, he would just quit it and give up. But I should have known that this was Phineas, he was always persistent in getting what he wants.

He looked older, but given that it's been over ten years since I've seen him, that was to be expected. He was still so handsome. His blond hair was a little longer, brushing against his ears and the nape of his neck. He was a little more built, having put on some weight in muscle over the years. But his bright blue eyes were exactly the same, still alluring and open. What people didn't know is what lay beneath them.

"So tell me how you've been, babe," Phineas asked. He rested his chin on his fist, his eyes boring into mine. "Don't leave out a single detail of the past ten years. I want to feel like I was there the whole time."
