Chapter 1 - The First Land

Ionia,  also known as the first land. It is a land of unspoiled beauty and natural magic, the people of Ionia are spiritual people, who's biggest wish is to live in harmony with nature and all creatures.

Ionia resides in the mountains with free flowing water and waterfalls all around, there is a type of magic in this land that makes everything seem so beautiful. The trees, forests and flowers flourish as far as the eye can see. Most people here are just ordinary people, but they live alongside with Vastaya, they are a chimeric race, weaker magical descendants from enlightened mortals that took the power of the spirit realm into themselves, neither mortal nor truly immortal, they usually take on beast like forms or half human half beast.

Some humans are gifted with magic as well , some use it for healing others for combat. Although Ionia has been neutral in the wars that ravaged Volaran over centuries they still find it necessary to be trained and ready for war shall it come upon them one day.

One in particular residents of Ionia was a loving couple, a woman named Serena and her husband Asel , they were both very well known in the community,  Asel for his skills in combat and Serana for her magic.
Serana spent her days helping around the village, using her powers to help as many residents as possible, whether in healing or whatever else a sorceress was needed for. And Asel training young men and women in combat.
But they both carry a heavy burden that only they can feel and share, they have been trying to conceive a baby for more than two years with no luck and it started to strain on their relationship.

Until one day Serana decided to go ask for guidance from Karma , who is one of the wisest Sorceress in all of Ionia, but she is also so much more, she is the living embodiment of an ancient Ionian soul, who serves as a spiritual beacon to each generation of her people.

It had never been Serana's wishes to seek such petty wisdom from a busy and important person such as Karma, but all hope was lost, she has tried everything in her power to conceive but with no luck. After explaining her troubles to the wise sorceress, Karma simply without a word touched Serana's stomach and immediately she could sense a form of life inside her, without hesitating on how this was even possible she burst with excitement and  fell on her knees with gratitude.
Karma took her hands and lifted her to stand and softly said " No need to thank me child , now go and tell your husband the good news".

She hurried home and as expected Asel was overwhelmed with joy. Not questioning Karma's powers, they were finally having a baby of they're own and he couldn't have been any happier.

Nine months later Serana gave birth to a healthy little girl, the prefect resemblance of both her parents.
But there was more, she had the most exquisite purple eyes and her small little ears was pointy, she looked like a perfect little elf, her parents didn't mind one bit, that their beautiful baby girl was different, they were going to raise her the best they can and just like any other normal child.
