Ten years later Serana and Asel's daughter, now named Lyra has grow into a beautiful young girl. Lyra was indeed much different to the other children her age and the whole village could sense something special about her, but nobody objected this beautiful gift from Karma.

Lyra has started using magic from the age of eight years old, unlike the other children gifted with magic, who only as normal started tapping into their magic at the age of sixteen.

Lyra was a beautiful little girl with long blond hair that made her purple eyes stand out even more, than they already do, but her beauty wasn't only on the outside as she has taken after her mother and has a good kind heart and always tries to help wherever she can.

One day while assisting her mother with a injured village member a raven flew into the hut holding a letter in his mouth, it is unusual to receive letters sent with ravens, and it usually brought bad news.

Lyra's POV

Watching my mother carefully putting down her healing equipment and taking the letter from the raven, I can see worry spreading over her face as she opens and reads the letter.
"Mother ?" I ask softly and with concern, she looks up to me and smiles while trying to relax her expression.
"It's nothing, just some silly rumors" she says and gives me another forced smile. I might only be ten but I'm smart enough to tell that whatever my mom read in that letter is alot more then silly rumors.

My mom turns back to the task at hand and speaks softly not to disturb the patient she's healing " You can go play Lyra, I don't acquire your assistance anymore, just please be home before dark". I watch her carefully, but her facial expressions are back to normal.
Without saying anything I kiss her on her cheek and make my way quietly out the hut.

I walked down a foot path , kicking small stones and wondering what could have been in that letter, so lost in my own thoughts that I didn't even realize my best friend and neighbor Sett has walked up to me. Sett and I have been friends for most our lives, he's a few years older than me and always protected me from bullies who likes teasing me about my pointy ears or abnormal eyes. Sometimes I think the only reason he is my friend is because he's different too, Sett is half human and half Vastaya, his father doesn't live with him and his mom and to be honest I don't think I've ever met him, I know it makes Sett sad that his dad is gone and his mom is left alone, but he always tries his best to make his mom happy.

"Lyra!" Sett calls my name playfully. I look up at him and gave him a genuine smile, he truly made me happy, it is impossible to be in a bad mood around him, he's always making jokes and laughing about silly things, but he also cares very deeply.
Sett takes my hand and pulls me forward to walk a little faster, he then looks back at me and says " I have something I want to show you". My face lights up , I truly loved suprises.

After a short walk we reach the edge of a big hill, this was our favorite spot to sit and talk, it was right next to a big waterfall and under a beautiful blossom tree, our parents would probably have a small heart attack knowing we come so close to the big waterfall, but that's why nobody knows about our spot except us. I look at Sett in confusion not sure why he brought us here, but he then walked up behind me and closed my eyes with his hands. He lightly pushed me forward until I could sense something in front of me and then command " Open your eyes" while removing his hands, I observe the tree in front of me, and then saw carved into the bark. Never one without the other. It was perfect, since he always tells me we'll never be apart and I'll always have him. I couldn't help blushing a little and threw my hands around his neck and whispered "Thank you Sett, I'm happy that I have you in my life".

We sat under our tree and spoke for what must have been a hour when I remembered about the letter my mom recieved from a raven, I spoke quickly
" When I was helping my mom today a raven flew to us carrying a letter, my mom didn't seem pleased about what the letter said and she also didn't want to share the information with me". Sett smirked and said " Maybe it was a spicy letter from your dad, and she didn't want you to see because it's private". I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "What does that even mean?" I said loudly,
" And she seemed concerned about the content of the letter not amused, by some joke or whatever that my dad made" I added. Sett then stood up , I put my hand out for him to pull me up, while in the motion he says, " Well then you just simply have to ask again or eavesdrop while you're parents are talking privately". I look at him with a stern expression and all he does is start laughing, he knows I'm a good daughter and I try not to anger my parents.
Unlike him who gives his mom a few grey hairs per day.
