Lyra's POV
I started to regain conciousness, but I'm not sure I'm going to be happy with where I ended up, I feel cold and the air is thick and smelly.
I try to slowly open my eyes, it takes me a few moments for them to adjust to the light, when I was finally able see what's going on, I was met with stone walls and prison bars all around me.
There was only one man in the cell next to me, he wasn't showing much interest in me at all.
I wonder why he's here, he must have done something terrible because both his hands were chained with thick chains.I know my imprisonment situation seems bad but it could've been worse, I'm just relieved that I'm not tied to the bed of that basterd who drugged and kidnapped me.
And almost like summoning the demon by thinking of him , the bastard came walking down the long row of cells, he walks until he reaches me.
He has a fat smirk on his face that I would like to slap right off."Sleep well Princess?" He says humorously.
I just glare at him and say "What am I doing here you bastard !?" Of course he laughs at me like I'm a idiot for asking that.
" Do you deny that you can do magic? After all you showed me first hand what you're capable of, and incase you forgot Demacia does not tolerate magic". He says.
And for the first time the man in the cell next to me acknowledge that I was here, he didn't say anything he just lifted his head and looked at me for a few seconds.
My kidnapper saw him looking up as well and said "Enjoy your company, this one has alot of fire in her" He laughed and then turned on his heels and walked away.
I look at my prison mate, and spoke softly "Why are you in here ?" , But nevermind he went back to his self pitty state where he doesn't acknowledge that I exist. I start pacing up and down for what felt like hours. How am I going to get out of here , surely my mom and Blair must be wondering where I am by now, will they be able to help me... I sigh and sit down on the floor with my back against the cell bars.
"My cell mates don't usually stay long so I've taken note not to get to know them" The man said from behind me.
"Ohh so now you decide to talk to me, wait... why does your cell mates not stay long ?" I say with interested.
He answers " They usually get executed within a day, but they keep me around because I'm somewhat useful to them"
My heart starts to race, they're going execute me within a day, I have to get out of here and fast. "Why would they keep you ?" I said eager to find a way to stay alive."I can absorb magic, so they can use me to find other mages or sorcerers" he says.
"Did they use you to find me?" I say, I got angry at the thought of being caught. "No" he says "Your unique appearance did it all on it's own".
I felt my stomach turn, why was I born like this ? Do I really deserve a lifetime in constant hiding and fear, I'm a sorceress probably a powerful one at that and I have to fear everyone the whole time. I am sick of it, I need to get out of here and then I need to get out of Demacia.
I look at him with a new sense of determination and say "What amount of power would you need to get us out of here ?"
He raise his eyebrows at me, "Not much but the problem is these chains, they prevent me from using magic"
" I can attempt to melt them off, but I can't guarantee that you won't get hurt in the process" I said , He nod his head and reply "I would eat my hand off at this point just to get the fuck out of here"
I smile at him, he moves closer and holds his chained hands out to me, "My name is Lyra by the way"
"Sylas" he says and nod his head in the direction of his waiting hands to indicate that I need to start. I feel sweat drops form on my forehead as I hold my hands over the chains and watch them slowly start to glow bright red, his skin around the chains are burning and I start to smell the sent of burned hair a skin. I look up at him but he isn't even flinching, a short moment later the chains fall from his wrists.
"You did it ! , I honestly didn't suspect it to work, because trust me I've tried and so many cell mates before you have tried. You really are a powerful little mage aren't you" he says while rubbing this wrists , with the pleasure to finally be free.
" I guess I am " I say with a small smile. "So what now ?" I continued.
"Now you let me take some of your power and then we can probably blast a hole through the wall" he says with a big smile on this face.He gestures towards my hand and I give it to him, for a moment I think that it's probably not a good idea to trust a stranger but this is the best chance I have at getting out , if I wait for my mom and Blair it might be too late.
"Sylas" I say softly "What will we do after we get out , will we split up?"
"If you want me to stay with you until we're out of Demacia then I can" he suggests. I sigh with relief, because I have never been alone and I have no idea where to go from here.
"Please, I would appreciate that, could we go to my house first ? to grab some stuff and I would like to at least leave a letter for my parents" I asked
"Yes fine, but we have to hurry" he says impatiently.
A few moments later he releases my hand and I feel a strange tingle feeling running through my fingers. He noticed me moving my fingers and asks "Are you alright?" I just nodded my head to gesture that I'm fine.
Sylas faces the wall and lift his hand but before doing anything he says,
"Take a step back so you won't get hurt and as soon as the wall is open you grab my hand and we run to your house, also try and take unnoticeable routes"My nerves got the better of me and I couldn't even reply but he didn't wait for my approval before forming a ball of raw magic in his hands and hurling it at the wall.
Pieces of stone and metal fly through the air around us and my ears start to ring, I shut my eyes to the sharp light rushing in from the outside, my heart is beating fast now and in the distance I can hear people screaming. Then like a bolt of reality hit me I ran and jumped through the open wall and made my way to Sylas who now has a very concerned look on his face. We need to move and fast.
