The oncoming war has terrified Ionia's people, they had no experience in such tragedy. But nobody would flee as this is their land and they will fight for it till their last breath.

Serana and Asel were having sleepless nights and they were not the only ones, how could anyone sleep at a time like this. But Serana knew that it's unhealthy for their daughter to be laying awake nights on end, so she made a herbal brew for Lyra to help her sleep and gave it to her in her tea before bed.
" Sleep now my dear, this will all be over soon, I love you." She whispered to her daughter before kissing her on her forehead and walk out the room softly closing the door behind her.

Lyra's POV

A short while after my mother left I started to feel myself falling in and out of sleep, until I drifted away into dream land.

I've been sleeping for a few hours when suddenly I heard a piercing noise coming from outside our house , I jump up in a sitting position, trying to take in my surroundings, when my eyes finally came to, I could see light flashing through my windows and deafening sounds filled my ears. I came to realize what was happening and jumped off my bed in a stumble and ran out my room and down the hall , to find my parents room already empty, they must be outside. I run down the staircase and stop in my tracks as I witness what was going on through a downstairs window, I froze to the horror, I could feel my heart beating uncontrollably and it started to become hard to breathe. Suddenly realization washed over me, my parents, Sett and his mom are probably out there and in danger. I know there's not much I can do but I knew some spells , so I must try.

So without another thought I grabbed the door and swung it open, I then started to run as fast as my legs can go through Ionians and Noxusians cutting each other down, my eyes scan for my family.

The war has become a bloody massacre , the Noxusians outweigh our people by far and the rumors were true , there were children fighting for Noxus, barely older than myself.

Panic started to flood my mind, I can't find anyone, and the stench of war made it hard for me to breathe, the blood spatter that made it's way on my face has made my vision blurry.
The screams and cries were deafening and I felt myself nearly fainting, watching as some Ionians start to flee. We were outnumbered and it is obvious now that we've already lost.
Fearing for my parent's lives, I start uncontrollably crying and stop running, but as I did a big scary man looked at me with a sickening smirk on his face, he started making his way to me, terror filled my emotions I started stepping back when my movement suddenly gets stopped, I swing around to find another man behind me, he grabs my shoulders, I attempt to wiggle out of his grip, at the moment I remember a cloaking spell to make myself invisible, by going invisible I had distracted him just enough to free myself from the two men and start running again.

I see a few wooden boxes next to a hut and quickly crawled in behind them, still feeling overwhelmed and as if I'm going to faint at any moment, I sit down with my face in my lap and grabbed my knees. Warm tears start streaming over the dry blood on my face. I feel so helpless, hiding in my cloaking spell.

I must have ended up fainting at some point because when I came to , the noise has quiet down, I try to fill my lungs with fresh air but all I got was the smell of blood and defecation, it made me feel sick, I haven't let go of my knees yet, to scared of looking up and making everything that's happened a reality.

More than a day has gone by and I still haven't left my small hiding place or let my cloaking spell wear off. The bodies of the fallen has started to rot in the sun and I knew I couldn't stay here any longer.
