" A Change "

It was getting around to Christmas and you had no idea how to celebrate Christmas with Iwaizumi. When it was with Ushijima... actually at this point you had forgotten about the Christmas you last shared with someone. You sat at your school desk contemplating what you should do.

Iwaizumi sat beside you at his desk scooting his chair in, "Hey (y/n)." He said nervously. You leaped out of your daze and turned to look at him, "Morning Iwa." You smiled and rested your head in your palm. "You alright? You seemed to be somewhat in a daze." Iwaizumi rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh, it's nothing Iwa." You reached out to him and held his hand to reassure him. He nodded and stood up pulling you out of your seat. "Let's go on a stroll for a bit." He said.

Iwaizumi held your hand as you swerved out of class and around Oikawa's fangirls outside near the gym. Once you both arrived he released his grip on your hand and patted your head. "What's wrong Iwa?" You asked as he caressed your hair. "Nothing, I just wanted some alone time with my girlfriend is all." He softly spoke sending chills down your spine.

Hearing him calling you his girlfriend made you feel so weird but in a good way. "That's the first time I heard you say that." You chuckled. "What really?" Iwaizumi said a little surprised. "It's no big deal. What matters is you have me and I have you." You smiled and caressed his face.

"Did he used to say that to you?" Iwaizumi sighed holding onto your hand that was on his face. You realized what he meant by 'he' and lowered your hand down. "No actually." You turned a bit away from him.

You didn't want Iwaizumi to be comparing himself with your ex. It pained you to know Iwaizumi was feeling like this even when you both discussed this the other day.

"Iwaizumi. You have no need to be comparing yourself to him, okay." You faced Iwaizumi and gave him a stern look. "I mean how can I not. I want to be a better boyfriend than he was to you." Iwaizumi lowered his head slightly. "You are better Iwa." You approached Iwaizumi and tugging on his blazer sleeve.

"You can't keep comparing yourself to him because you are beyond him Iwa. We talked about this yesterday and I really don't want to relive what happened." You nervously smiled. Iwaizumi sighed, "Your right." He smiled.

There's no use lingering to the thought. Iwaizumi was someone that never stood me up or ghosted me. He even invited me to his games. Ushijima was never like that at all. I would have to invite myself to go to his games.

How in the world can I let Iwaizumi know that he's better... way better than any other guy in the world.

Iwaizumi stared up at the sky, "So do you wanna spend Christmas together?" He asked. You felt your heart skip abeat. "Iwa... of course!" You happily said jumping into his arms.

There was nothing more that I could ask for. I had Iwaizumi and that's all that matters.

Afterschool Iwaizumi walked you home and dropped you off. "Well see you next week." Iwaizumi waved. "Next week?" You said worryingly. "I'm going out of town for the weekend but I promise once I get back I'm coming to your house!" He shouted as he walked off. "Okay Iwa, bye!" You smiled.

Once Iwaizumi had walked away, an idea suddenly aspired in your brain. You wanted to surprise Iwaizumi with homemade agedashi tofu, his favorite!

You decided to start making them the next day and bounced onto your bed and slept throughout the night.

Early in the morning you slightly opened your eyes and heard your phone ringing violently on your nightstand. You reached over to grab your cellphone and lied it against your ear, "Hello?" You said in a groggy tone.
