" To Be Seen "

It was now 4 days until Christmas. You sat up in your bed just scrolling through Instagram on your phone tiredly. The night had gotten to you as you had woken up early thinking about Iwaizumi. There was no set in stone date he'd be coming back but he had promised you he'd be coming back to you on Christmas.

No use crying over it I suppose. Your willing to be patient and wait even though you desperately wanted him to be beside you. Shutting off your phone, you threw it onto your nightstand. You leaned back onto your bed frame contemplating what you should do today.

You've done pretty much all you wanted to do, which was making food for Iwaizumi. Maybe a little gift shopping would be fun and also buying a gift for Tooru. Tooru had done a lot for you as well and it was time you wanted to repay his chivalry.

It was odd thinking of Tooru has chivalrous but you couldn't think of any other adjective at the moment.

Quickly you grabbed your things and headed for the front door. But as you approached you heard a small knock.

Who could be here so early in the morning?

You swung the door open toward you, standing there was... Ushijima?

"Hey." He said rubbing the back of his head nervously while holding onto a small present in his other hand. "What are you doing here Ushi- I mean Ushijima." You stuttered. "I wanted to just give you a small gift as an apology." Ushijima handed you the small wrapped gift.

You hesitated as you grabbed it from him, "Thank you." You said observing it. "I know I was horrible and unfair to you and after some reflecting, I see that now. I never considered how you felt when I kept ghosting and not keeping promises." Ushijima sighed.

It was difficult to respond to his apology so you stayed silent staring down your feet. "And I'm not asking for us to get back together or anything. I came back to rekindle a friendship with you is all." He said giving you a reassuring smile.

His words almost made you want to tear up. He must have changed after your breakup. You gulped, "Thank you Ushijima." You lifted your head and smiled.

"Also when you were in Shibuya, I actually happened to be there as well. When you were being harassed by that guy. I actually wanted to jump in a save you but I saw Iwaizumi running toward you. He saved you and for all, I know I could have been the one to save you too. But Iwaizumi is someone you need to hold onto (y/n)." Ushijima said.

You blushed thinking of Iwaizumi, "Yeah." Ushijima was very happy for you and he could tell how much you have changed as well.

"It's so strange though. Iwaizumi sometimes compares himself to you." You said. "Compares himself?" Ushijima questioned. "I have no idea how to show him that he is better... better than anyone else." You said fiddling with the small gift Ushijima gave you.

Ushijima chuckled, "So you want me to give you advice on how to tell Iwaizumi that he's better than me." Ushijima crossed his arms. You blushed in embarrassment, "Ah I'm sorry." You said avoiding eye contact.

"It's fine (y/n). Iwaizumi is more man than I could ever be." He sighed turned his head to the side.

"I was actually thinking of going to the shopping center nearby to get him a gift and also a little something for Tooru." You smiled. "Tooru? Tooru Oikawa?" He asked. You nodded. "Yeah, he's also been there for me when times were tough. Tooru and Iwaizumi are the only people that actually care about me and it's time I pay them both back for the kindness."

Ushijima smiled, "Keep them close (y/n). Anyways, I have to head out to practice so see you later." He waved and walked away from your front porch.
