Madison's POV

I leave and take Aleah home. I get in the door and immediately call Abby and Kayla to come over. Once they get here I put on a movie for Aleah and give her some toys while we go to my room to talk. I explain everything from this morning. "Ugh I can't believe he didn't believe you!" Abby says.

"I guess I should have expected it. It Kay I should have known he was going to side with her." I say.

"Did you play the recording?" Kayla asks.

"No. If he didn't believe me on his own why should I show him and try to make him believe me. he knows how she can be. Lets be honest though things aren't the same as they were in high school. So much shit has happened its like the world is totally against us being in each other's lives at all" I say, putting my face in my hands.

"It will all work out how its supposed to Mads" Abby says pulling me in for a hug.

"I know Abs"

"Good" We get off of that topic and start talking about old memories from high school.

"Did I ever tell you guys about the first time I met Zach's parents?" I laugh. Abby and Kayla both shake their heads "Okay well.."

*Flashback*

My parents drop Zach and I off at his house just down the road. I take a deep breath as Zach helps me out of the car. We say goodbye to my parents and wave to them as they drive away. "Do you really think they are going to like me?" I ask.

"Yes Mads they will love you for the millionth time I promise there is nothing to worry about." Zach reassures me again like he has every time I've asked every 5 seconds.

"Okay okay. I'm sorry I'm just nervous"

"I know you are and that's okay" He says, pulling me in for a hug.

"Thank you I really needed that" I say, pulling away.

"I could tell" He laughs. I pout and punch his arm. You got this Madison. I take another deep breath and we head up to the door. I go to knock and Zach just opens up the door and drags me in. "Mom! Dad! We are here!" He yells. His parents come in and hug him.

"You must be Madison" Mrs. Herron says, pulling me in for a hug.

"Thats me" I smile. "Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Herron"

"Nice to meet you too. You can call us Myta and Josh dear" She smiles.

"Okay" I smile.

"Make yourself at home honey dinner will be ready soon. I will call you guys when its ready" Myta says and Zach nods. Soon we all sit down for dinner.

"So Madison Zach said you are a Freshman this year" Josh says.

"I am" I nod. We spent the rest of dinner talking and getting to know each other. Afterwards I was talking with Myta in the kitchen.

"So Zach said he told you about the band" Myta says suddenly while we are talking.

"He did. I do want you to know that I'm not using him for clout or anything like that. He's an amazing person. We honestly got super close as soon as we met and I am grateful for that. I don't know what I would do without him now." I say, looking through the doorway at Zach goofing off with his dad and siblings in the living room.

"I know sweetie. I could tell as soon as I met you that you aren't one of those people. I want to thank you for being such a good friend to him and showing him around the school. He was a little nervous about going to school that day, but when he came home he was so happy that he made friends and he had a great day. So thank you for that"
