Madison's POV

I hang up and I freeze. Why did you say I love you you idiot.

Cause we do still love him

I know we do but he doesn't love us

That very much may be true

I roll my eyes and I head to bed.

*the next day at the hospital*

Aleah and I arrive at the hospital. We walk up to the entrance of the hospital and I spot Zach. My breath catches in my throat. He hasn't changed at all. We walk up. "Hey"

"Let's just get this over with, okay?"

"Okay" I say. What changed between last night and now? Hes being a complete ass again. I know I cut him off but I didn't want to hear him bash me again.

We walk in and up to the front desk. I sign our names on the sheet so they know who we are. "Hello, how can I help you?" The lady says.

"We are here to get a paternity test"  I tell her. Zach nods.

"Okay just fill this out" She hands me a clipboard with some papers. "And the doctor will be with you as soon as possible" I nod and we sit down. I start filling out the papers when Aleah taps on my arm.

"Yes honey?"

"Mommy whats a padenidy test" I smile.

"A paternity test is where they take some of your blood and try to match it with someone elses to see if they are your father or not"

"But I thought you said Zachary Dean Herron is my dad Mommy"

"I know that I did and I know that he is but they just want proof to put it on your birth certificate"

"Whats that?"

"Its a paper that says when you were born, where, and who your parents are"

"Ohhhhhhhh okay Mommy" I smile at her. I look over at Zach and I catch him smiling at her for a split second before he realizes I am looking. I finish filling out the paper work and take it back up. I sit back down.

Finally a nurse comes out. We head back and she brings us back to a room where they take blood. Zach and Aleah sit down. The nurse leaves for a minute. "Mommy?"

"What sweetheart?"

"Is it going to hurt?"

"Well-" I start to say but Zach cuts me off.

"It doesn't hurt too bad. Its just like a bee sting"

"Whats a bee?" Aleah answers and I see Zach's face drop. I turn away from her and bite my lip to try to keep from crying.

"Well its an animal. It flies in the air and helps trees and flowers grow big."

"Ooohhhhh. But why would it sting you?"

"Well it stings you to protects itself and the flowers so you don't hurt either of them" He says and she nods. He smiles. I smile at them.

"Are you sure it won't hurt too bad"

"If you want I can go first and I will show you. Your mommy and I can hold your hands too"

"Will you mommy?" She asks me and I nod. I always knew he would be an amazing father. He smiles at her and the nurse comes back. She grabs the stuff and does Zach first. Then we both hold one of Aleah's hands as she gets hers done. She flinches but she doesn't freak out. The nurse gives her stickers. "The results should be in within the next 5 to 8 business days. We will call you then with the results." We nod.

We walk out and I put Aleah in the car. Zach waits by the back of the car. I walk over once I'm done. "How does she not know what a bee is?" Zach asks.

"Thats what happens when you are locked in a room your entire life Zach. You don't know what most stuff is"

"Quit playing the kidnapped card. You probably neglected the poor girl Madison."

"Do NOT EVER question my parenting skills. I have been the one there for her since she was born. I was the one up all night with her when she couldn't sleep or she was hungry. I was the one that got her out of that awful place. I am the one that told her stories about you. Telling her you were going to come save us. I am the one that was with her. I am a damn good mom no thanks to you."

"Thats no fair. If she is my kid I didn't know so I couldn't be there. I'm not listening to you claim being kidnapped anymore."

"What the fuck ever Zachary. Good bye" I walk to my door and I start to get in. He grabs my arm and pulls me back. I immediately go into defense mode and I try to pull away and hit him. He keeps a good grip on me though. "Z-Zach let go"

"Why so you can just leave? So you can run away instead of facing your problems?"

"N-no I won't leave I promise just l-let me go please" I say. I look away from him to keep from crying. He is just going to say I am faking. That I just want attention or that I am just playing out my lie.

"What is that?" He says pointing to my neck. He lets go and I look in the mirror. I mentally curse myself for not covering the bruise well enough there.

"Nothing"

"Something"

"Not like you will believe me anyways."

"Madison"

"Zach just drop it"

"Madison what is it"

"Its a bruise Zach"

"From what"

"From almost being choked to death at the police station last week"

"Who did it?"

"The guy that helped Kassidy Zach"

"Oh"

"Yeah" I get in the car and this time he walks away. I pull out of the parking lot and I head back to the hotel.
