*The night before after Kay and Madison's argument*

Zach's POV

Kay comes inside fuming. I mentally roll my eyes. "What's wrong babe?" I ask.

"I don't like her Zach"

"Kay she isn't going to just disappear" I try to reason.

"She threatened me outside Zach"

"I will talk to her babe but she is Aleah's mom. She isn't going to just disappear."

"She will if we take custody of Aleah"

"What? Why?!?" I say standing up.

"Babe think about it. We won't have to deal with her and Aleah will have a better life with us"

"How would she have a better life Kay? Madison is all she has ever known"

"We would be better parents then Madison, Zach. The poor girl doesn't know hardly anything"

"She was locked in a room her whole damn life Kay!"

"Not this again Zach! I can't believe you still believe her! She's not a good person. She's not the same person you knew in high school. You grew up to be a better person and she became a horrible one. You just can't see it because I bet you still love her!"

"Not this again Kay! I don't love her anymore! It's been 4 years! I wouldn't have gotten with you if I still loved her. You keep doubting me! There is absolutely no trust here! Also yes this again! I saw how scared of everyone and everything she was after she got back! I saw how broken she was after 4 years of being kidnapped and only god knows what done to her! Obviously she is going to be a different person. But she is an amazing person and an amazing mother Kay! She was kidnapped twice in her life, bullied in high school, and so much more. She is a strong person and I hope Aleah learns to be as strong, loving, giving, and so much more from her."

"See you still love her Zach! You always chose her side. She threatened me and all I get is 'I will talk to her'. But if it were flipped you would chose her side still. You won't let the kidnapping thing go. It was years ago Zachary! I have changed since then! We all have! I can't believe you! God how could I be so stupid to think you would ever actually chose me over her! The only reason we got together is because she disappeared, but now she's back and I will be thrown to the curb again. I'm so tired of it. It's always been her Zachary. You always choose her. I am always your second choice. I'm an after thought. I can't compete with her!" She cries.

"Baby if I wanted her, I would have left you the second she got back. But instead I am here with you. I am not going to take Aleah from the only person she has ever known. If Madison gives a good reason for her to be an unfit parent then we can talk about taking custody of Aleah. For right now she is just getting used to us. You are not an after thought either. You are not a second choice. I am here with you. I seriously will talk to her and handle it. She's just still struggling a lot I'm sure, okay? I do believe she was kidnapped because I know she is not the type of person to neglect her child." I walk over and pull her into my arms.

"Okay fine. I'm sorry I over reacted. Just if it comes down to it I want to know for sure you have my back over hers. I need someone in my corner. Your family hates me and so do your friends. If you choose her I have no one backing me up. My friends were your friends until after Madison disappeared. They all think I had something to do with it. Now they all hate me. You are all I have."

"My family doesn't hate you. Neither do our friends. You have your family. I will always back you up. Now come on, wipe those tears and wash your face while I go check on Aleah and then we can all watch a movie, okay?"

"Okay" she nods. I go and get Aleah and she sits beside me on the couch. I pull a blanket over us and after a few minutes Kay comes out and sits on the other side of me. I put a movie on. Soon we all fall asleep on the couch.
