Mina was so patient in explaining everything to Hee-soon. This is Hee-soon's first proper training so she needs to learn a lot of things. She made sure to write all the important things Mina explained. When Mina gave her a tour inside the editing room, her eyes lit up from excitement. She made sure to memorize all technicalities Mina explained.
Their shift for the day has ended and this is the first time for Hee-soon not to notice the time. When she was in her previous department, she always looked at her watch and there are times when she counts the ticking of her wristwatch. Now, she feels like she doesn't want to go home. She fixed her things and grabbed her bag. Both she and Mina waved goodbye when they were in the lobby.
"See you tomorrow, bestie," Mina cheerfully waved goodbye. "I still have a lot of things to teach you tomorrow."
"I'll look forward to it," Hee-soon replied and both of them walked in a different direction. She started walking to the bus stop when a black car stopped in front of her. The window opened and Ji-hoon's smiling face was what she saw.
"You didn't think I forgot about the dinner, did you?" He said and opened the door from the inside. "Get in."
"Mr. Lee, I think -- " Hee-soon is about to decline but Ji-hoon cut him off.
"I did not eat lunch for I was looking forward to this dinner," he sighed and pretended to be very hungry and upset. She smiled at that and eventually got in the car. That made Ji-hoon smile. Hee-soon was expecting that the drive going to their destination will be suffocating. She was completely wrong for Ji-hoon never stopped talking. They had the kind of conversation where both are enjoying.
"Let's eat here," he said as he parked his car in front of a restaurant. The restaurant looked fancy and now Hee-soon starts to feel nervous. She's now computing in her mind if the money she has right now will be enough to pay for the food they'll be eating tonight. They sat at a table near the window and one of the waiters is quick to get our order. He gave each of us their menu and Hee-soon starts to have cold sweats when she saw how expensive their menu is.
"Beef Tenderloin, please," Ji-hoon quickly ordered like he already memorized what's on the menu. "What's yours?" He asked Hee-soon. She scanned the menu again and looked for the cheapest meal. When she spotted what she's looking for, she gave the menu back to the waiter.
"I'll get Asparagus soup," she smiled and remained calm.
"2 Beef Tenderloin and 1 Asparagus soup," Ji-hoon added which made Hee-soon look at him.
"Will that be all, sir?" The waiter asked in which Ji-hoon answered with a simple yes.
"I saw how very excited you were when Mina was teaching you the basics earlier. It turned out I was not the only one who skipped lunch," he smiled at her. That is actually true. She was so excited earlier that she forgot to eat her lunch. It seems like Ji-hoon was watching her earlier.
"Since this is your first day under my supervision, dinner is on me. No buts. I would like you to enjoy your dinner with me." Ji-hoon smiled at her. Looking at her new supervisor's face, Hee-soon notices how handsome Ji-hoon is. No wonder why a lot of girls in the previous department she was in swoon over him.
Their order came and they start to eat while having a conversation. They talked about why Ji-hoon decided to work in a film editing company. He said that he loves watching movies and it was just that one day, he decided to work as a film editor.
"I was just lucky enough to be a part of our company," he said as he brought a piece of meat in his mouth.
"That was not luck, Mr. Lee. You are a part of the company because of your talent. All the movies you have edited turned out to be a huge success. No wonder why a lot of people in the office look up to you," Hee-soon said and drank water. Ji-hoon looks at her with admiration. The real purpose of him approaching the girl now subsides after knowing how she is as a person.
