Chapter 12: Hate, Anger, and Het

Everyone: What?!

Ycka: These are the same people that tried to kill us and now you bring them to our base. I knew you were crazy but not insane!

Everyone had their jaws dropped when they heard that Alesana and Teonide were staying at the base. "Hey, don't forget about me!" said Kahori from the back of the group. He had asked, well more like begged, to come along. Kahori's parents were killed at the age of 7 when a gang of bandits attacked his village. He has been on his own ever since. Onreifni took pity on him and allowed him to come along.

Jessachi: Onreifni, are you stupid or something? These are the same savages that threatened and attacked us. How do expect us to let them live under the same roof?

Onreifni: I'm sorry, I just thought-

Jessachi: Thought what huh? That somehow we would magically forgive them?

Commander: Jessachi turn it down a bit. I'm sure Onreifni has a good explanation.

Onreifni explained how he was able to unlock a bit more of his memories. Alesana and Teonide's jobs were basically to protect the carrier of The Holy Sword, which in this case was Onreifni. Sketchy at first, the team did not want to take in the dangerous Vonekus. It was clear they had the upper hand in strength and power.

Briotami: I say we let them in.

Ycka: What! Not you too Briotami!

Briotami: Unfortunately, I was not able to go to Argen and witness the things they did. So my opinion, in a way, is unbiased. If what you say it's true, that these Voneku won't hurt us then I think we can come up with a compromise.

Onreifni: I'm sorry guys, I know this is a lot to take in but I'm sure we can work something out.

The Commander took a deep breath as she thought about it. "More Vonekus on the team huh? Well, I hope you guys are as good at doing chores as you are in combat." And with that, The Commander welcomed them to Team C-24. Of course, not everyone was happy with this decision, especially Jessachi and Ycka. But this was The Commander's choice and they had to respect it. Onreifni took the time to show Alesana, Teonide, and Kahori around the base. By the time lunch came they had finished their little tour.

Ycka: Hey! Voneku! That is my seat!

Alesana: Oh really? Well, I don't see your name written on it.

Onreifni: Guys please stop fighting. I'm sorry Alesana, let's look for another-

Alesana: You really have gotten soft, huh big brother? Fine, let's find another table.

That incident caused the atmosphere in the cafeteria to tense up. Humans and Vonekus were now eating on separate tables. Glorisa did not like this one bit, she wanted to sit next to Onreifni but in doing so she would be betraying her team. As Onreifni got up to put his tray away Ycka stuck his foot out and tripped him. Instead of saying his classic phrase "Ycka you bitch," Onreifni instead responded with.

Onreifni: Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see your foot there! Don't worry I'll pick up my mess and clean your shoe right away. I am really sorry.

This definitely took everyone by surprise. Why was Onreifni acting this way? What could've caused such a change in his manners? Why did he keep apologizing? Jessachi was suspicious, so she got up and kicked the plate out of his hands.

Alesana: Hey, what's your problem! Leave big brother alone!

Onreifni: No, it's my fault for not looking. I'm so sorry Jessachi. I'll make sure to stop getting in your way from now on-
