London’s POV:

The next couple of periods went pretty quickly and I only have 2 other periods with manwho- I mean Aiden. Dan was right. Two days after Aiden and Mary (I learned her name, go me!) met, Mary came in with a scowl on her face. She refused to talk to her partner at all. She moved seats and guess who has to sit next to Aiden, me!!

Yay.

There was a little sarcasm there if you couldn’t tell.

It was Friday morning and I arrive at health. Aiden is no where in sight and I hope he’s absent this morning. I’ve only sat with him for a day and all he does is pester me. He pokes me and asks me for answers. He even tries to flirt with me which is just plain gross if you ask me. I will not fall for his charming ways, I swear.

Sadly, I’ve noticed that my brother has taken a liking for Aiden and they’ve become friends. I want to ask him what wrong with him but I think that would be too rude.

“Psst, London! Psst,” I hear to my left. I look over at him with a questioning look.

“What’s the answer to number 9?” He asks with a sly smile. I roll my eyes and go back to my work. He asks again and I don’t respond.

“C’mon do you not like me or something?” He pesters. I shrug, not looking at him. Thankfully, the bell rings and I gather my things to leave.

“London!!” I turn around at the mention of my name. My new friend, Christina, comes running towards me. Her long strawberry blonde hair flows behind her.

“GUESS WHAT?” She practically screams. I shrug my shoulders, laughing.

“CHASE FINALLY GAVE ME HIS NUMBER!” She shrieks. Chase was a blonde haired, blue eyed jock that was the quarterback of the football team. Christina is in the same friend group as Mary, the girl that now hates Aiden. She hooks up with guys with no shame but I don't mind because in the few days I’ve been here she’s only showed me kindness. And thats all you need in a friend.

I laugh and roll my eyes. We begin to walk to our next period, Math.

The next couple of periods pass very quickly and soon enough it is lunch.

Me and Christina walk down to the cafe together. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around. Mason stands there pouting.

“I think Linda switched our lunches… I have turkey and cheese with fig newtons.” He grimaces. I check inside my bag and sure enough I have a salami sandwhich and chocolate chip cookies. I trade with my brother, excited to have my fig newtons.

“Thanks sis,” My brother says, giving me a fist bump. I laugh and walk towards the cafe withChristina. We say goodbye and she heads over to the popular group, while I go over to the other friends I have made recently.

“Hey London!” My friend Marianna calls out to me. Her short blonde hair was curled today. She was wearing a tight maroon shirt and high-waisted black skinny jeans. Short black boots adorn her feet.

I wave at her, giving her a smile. Suddenly, red hair flies in front of my face. My friend Chelsea sits down out of breath from her small run. Her auburn hair is pulled back in a bun and her hazel eyes are wide.

“What’s wrong, Chelsea?” Marianna asks the frantic girl, between laughs.

“I went to the bathroom and the toilet overflowed!!” She whisper/yells. I begin to laugh so hard I almost fell off my chair. My brunette hair falls all over my face and I desperately  try to push it away.

“Hey look it’s the girl that clogged the  toilet!!” Some random kids say while pointing at Chelsea.

“Fuck off,” She says, glaring. They do a small gasp, their eye widening like they’ve never heard he word ‘fuck’ before. This sends me over the edge, laughing like a maniac. I clutch my stomach, bending over. I finally regain my composure, getting up to get a drink. I walk past Christina’s table and hear someone call my name. I turn around and see Aiden gesturing me over.

“London!” He smiles and I raise an eyebrow.

“Hey I don’t think you’ve said a full sentence to me… We’re chemistry partners for crying out loud!” He comments and I think back. Wow, I think he’s right… For once.

Everyone at his table looks at me and I shrug, shrinking back a little. An uneasy feeling comes over me.

“She doesn’t talk much, guys,” Mason comments, laughing nervously. Ever since the accident I haven’t spoken much, if not at all. The awful night plays in my mind many times a day and it haunts me the most at night. I’ve had so many nightmares, some disguised with a different setting, some exactly like the night it happened. Yes, I remember it all vividly. I passed out once I landed on the hood of a car, messing up my back in the process. It hurts every day and I walk kind funny but I don’t mention it to anyone. I don’t want to be a burden. I only got one permanent scar from that night and that is on the side of my face but no one can see it because I hide it with my bangs.

“Why not?” A girl with bleach blonde hair asks in a squeaky voice. Wow thats annoying.

"Long story, sorry guys I’m sure London would love to tell you guys later! Now’s not the time,” Mason gives me a look that basically tells me to go away, so I do. I walk back to my table, ignoring all the stares I am getting from my brother’s friends.

Wow that was awkward...

I’d never tell any of them about the accident. That is going to stay between me and my family.

Speaking of the accident, my back is starting to act up again so I gather my things, say goodbye to my friends and head to the nurse.
