A/N HEEEYYYYYY OK so I love Slexie ALMOST AS MUCH AS MERDER but coz I didn't start this fic with them in it, and the focus has been on Merder, I haven't found a place to put them into this story 😭😭😭

I could totally imagine Mark doing this with Derek but coz of the storyline, imma just say that Lexie never found Meredith and Mark flew to L.A with Addison
Also I loved Callie and Derek's friendship Aakakkskskhdjj So here y'all go

Derek P.O.V

"WELL HURRY UP THEN!" Callie shouted at me.
"I'm hurrying calm it Cal"

Today was the day, I was going to propose to Meredith, the love of my life.
Callie, who had become one of my best friends, was helping me to set up.
I knew Meredith would hate something loud and public, she doesn't like to be the centre of attention, so what Callie and I had been planning for the last month would be perfect.

"We've got 10 minutes till her shift's over! Der we still have one more post to dig and we have to set up the candles!" She cried, even more frantic then I was.

"I'll dig the post and set up the lanterns, can you put the candles out?" I asked her
"Ok let's hurry!" We hurried and finished setting up, right as the sky began to darken.

"She'll love this Der" Callie said, throwing an arm around my shoulder "Oh shit I gotta go BUT GOOD LUCK!!!" She kissed my cheek before striding towards her car
"Oh and call me after the Sex yeah?" She shouted back at me before getting in her car and driving off.

Now the nerves started to kick in. I knew we wanted a future together and we've spoken about kids and marriage but what if it's to soon? It had been almost 2 years since we'd gotten together but maybe she thought it was too fast?
I laughed out loud at my internal Meredith-like ramble. I'd started to say words like 'seriously?' And 'Freakin' and 'whatever' thanks to her.
I went inside the dream house to put on my suit, grabbed my Mother's engagement ring and sprinkled rose petals on the bed.

As I was adding the finishing touches, I felt my watch vibrate. I set it to the time Meredith's Ferry was expected to arrive, meaning she would be here in less than 5 minutes.

I took my place on the porch and waited for her to arrive.

Meredith P.O.V
I'd been feeling awful all week, throwing up and getting stomach cramps from just walking around. The nausea and vomiting concerned me so I had Cristina take some of my blood. I got the results today and I was completely shocked.

I had picked up a present for Derek on the way home to help with my surprise. And I looked over at it, neatly folded in a shiny silver bag in the passenger seat.

I pulled onto the road that would take me to the dreamhouse, when I saw a large 'X' in ribbon over the entire road, with two rustic lanterns hanging from wooden posts on either side. I pulled over and got out of my jeep, intending to pull the ribbon down when I saw a laminated bit of card right in the centre of the cross.

Leave the car here and follow the lanterns

I was confused but chose to follow them anyway, knowing that Derek must have something planned.
I saw the next lantern about 50 yards down the path, so I grabbed the bag from my car and jogged towards the dim light.

Stapled to the next wooden post was a head CT and two notes underneath, tied together with a small bow of white ribbon.
