At the house...
Meredith's POV:
Last night was amazing besides Derek's warm welcome. Mark and I are going in with everyone to get our old jobs back well besides me I have to get a second year resident position.
"Ready to go?" Mark asks me
"Yep how about you?" I ask
"Ready! Come on everyone!" Mark says
"Going!" Cristina, Lexie and Alex say since they spent the night. Jackson and April took Alex's car. Everyone jumps in the car and we all make our way to the hospital.
"See you guys later!" Cristina and Alex say before running off.
"When does your shift start lex?" I ask
"In like 45 minutes so I can go with you guys if you want." She says
"You can come if you want." I say
"I might walk with you then head to the residents lounge." She says
"Ok!"
We went our separate ways when Lexie found Jackson and April while Mark, the twins, and I went to the chief's office.
*knock knock*
"Come in!" A voice says
"Morning chief!" I say
"Meredith!" He says
"Morning" Mark says
"Morning to you both!" Richard says
"Grandpa!" The twins scream
"Ame! Luke!" He said as he hugged the twins
"What do I have the pleasure for this morning?" Richard asked
"We came to see if you had positions open for us?" Mark said
"Getting a free Chief position WOULD be hard but you are better than our current Chief of plastics so your good Mark. Meredith we have room for a second year resident right?" He asks me
"Correct." I respond
"Then yes we have positions for you both! But you start today!" He said
"That's fine. Thanks Chief!" Mark and I say walking out.
"No problem! Bye Ame! Bye Luke!"
"Bye bye grandpa!" The twins say
We all made our way to the daycare. We turned the corner and dare was walking by he say me and gave me a look indicating he wanted to talk.
"He you drop off the kids ok? Love you. Bye Ame! Bye Luke! Love you be good!" I said to them. Then I walked over to Derek.
"What do you want?" I asked
"I wanted to say I was sorry for yesterday. I was out of line." He said
"Really you think?" I say sarcastically
"Meredith please I just want to know them." He said
"I understand and I would be fine if I knew a way to tell them your their father without them being hurt or rude to Mark or something like that!" I said
"Ok so what can we do?" He asks
"Derek I can't have you disrespecting Mark, that's one. Two they know Mark as their father so we can say you are their biological father but you can't say Mark isn't their father because he really is. I mean not biologically but they have his name. Are you okay with that?" I ask
