"Okay, say we get into the Hotel Dumort" I start, hesitantly, "How are we even going to convince Raphael to give us the blood for Jace, we aren't exactly best buddies"
"We don't have much of a choice, the Institute is a no go, especially with everything happening right now and we don't have long. Jace needs this blood" Clary sighs, her face an expression of fatigue and grief.
She was clearly worried about Jace.
After finding Jace's father, and yes it was in fact his real father who he thought had died, we took Jace back to the Jade Wolf, enlisting the help of Luke and Simon. But the rune wasn't healing Jace and he had lost too much blood, hence why we were running down the street in haste, entering vampire territory.
We stalk up the flights of stairs, my mind twisting back to remember the last time we had stepped foot in here, desperate to find and save Simon from a vampire and now we were back, desperate for the same vampires help.
I don't miss the irony in that.
"Why can't we just take what we need and leave?" Clary asks as we make our way through the rooms of the building, hunting to find Raphael and get what we needed.
"If we were transfusing goat blood, no problem." Simon replies simply, "But human blood, that's against the Accords."
"Those fucking Accords, bane of my life" I swore lightly under my breath, my mind criticising and scrutinising every moment where the Accords had worked against us rather than in our favour.
"Surprised you know that much"
I watch as Simon flinches slightly, sighing in annoyance before turning around, facing an arrogant and almost bored looking Raphael, who had obviously eavesdropping on our conversation.
"Why do you keep doing that to me?" Simon asks, his voice pitching higher and an almost pouty looking coming across his face, clearly over the games that Raphael has been playing with his vampirism.
"If you worked on controlling your enhanced senses, as you should, you wouldn't be surprised." He chastised teasingly, "Clary and Cam, you really have to stop barging in here" He states, smirking at us, a knowing and cocky expression across his face as he fold his arms across his chest, clearly waiting.
God, how I would love to punch that look off of his.
"Sorry Raphael" Clary falsely expresses, sneering, "We need blood"
"So I've heard." He says, laughing, an amused look on his face at the irony. "Human blood. Funny how those rules for Downworlders stop being such a big deal when you need our help." He turns his back to us, clearly enjoying how the roles have reversed and we're here pleading with him.
"Yeah, we get it, the Accords suck ass, after you give us the blood we can start a petition" I snark out, the sarcasm practically dripping from my words. Raphael doesn't seem offended by my attitude, probably used to it by now, but he doesn't look close to changing his mind either.
