[Third person POV]

Cam's body shook as she slept, she was restless; churning from side to side, her face an expression of distress and worry as she fell deeper and deeper into her own mind.

For the last couple of nights, she had dreamt of visions, they seemed like memories, so familiar yet so unclear. They were blurry and broken for a while, but after a few nights of pieces appearing and disappearing she was able to come to a conclusion.

It was a memory.

Of Luke and her mother.

And tonight, as she finally delved into oblivion it was going to be revealed, and despite the eeriness and fear that had overtaken her body as she slept and opened her mind to these new memories, she knew that she was ready to know.

She was ready.

"Simon, you can't seriously keep hiding how you feel forever" Cam sighed, her voice barely above a whisper as she talked to Simon on the phone, being careful not to wake up Clary, who was sleeping on her bed, and definitely not alerting her mother that she was in fact awake, despite it being well past midnight.

She had felt restless for the last couple of nights, her head ached and whenever she slept she dreamt of weird creatures and symbols, nothing was clear though, and despite how familiar her mind felt as she layed awake she couldn't help but question what she knew.

Why did there appear to be so many holes?

"Si, we've been friends for years, and after all this time your 'crush' hasn't gone like you anticipated, its time to fess up" Cam expressed, running a hand through her messy hair, in an attempt to tame it.

However, the sound of footsteps echoing closer to her room caught her attention, and her eyes widened.

"Simon, I'm going to have to call you back"

Abruptly, Cam hung up before shoving the phone under her pillow and closing her eyes, and the second she did that she heard someone enter the room.

She was glad that she was facing the other direction.

"Luke no." Jocelyn cried, her voice mumbled and soft, as to not wake up the girls but Cam could still hear her.

"All this lying is destroying you. Stop blocking their memory and tell them the truth." Luke sighed, his voice sounding exhausted and tired and Cam furrowed her brow in confusion, her chest tightening as she contemplated Luke's words.

She had no idea what Luke meant by her mother 'blocking her memory'.

"I can't. You know I can't." Jocelyn pleaded, her voice wavering and Cam could imagine the dejected look on her mother's face. Camilla had never seen luke and her mom argue, and whatever it was, it obviously was about Clary and her.

"You're just delaying the inevitable. Clary and Camilla are Shadowhunter's. There's nothing you can do to change that." Luke exclaimed quietly, his voice exasperated and Cam frowned, the word 'Shadowhunter' teetering the edge of her mind, feeling awfully familiar.

"This world is too dangerous. If anyone knew who they really were, the risks would be a hundred times greater." Jocelyn cried, her voice crumbling slightly and Cam felt her heart ache, not to mention her pulse race at her mother talking about the dangers.

What danger, she thought.

"What happens when she finds out the truth on her own? - And then what? "Luke questions expectantly and Jocelyn shakes her head in reply, sighing.

"I won't let that happen."

Camilla could feel her chest tightening, her mind was feeling hollow and she was anticipating a reveal, something was definitely wrong and her mother was hiding something from her.

She had to know what.

"If she ever learns about her father- "Jocelyn says lowly, and Cam immediately in takes a breath.

"If she ever finds out that her father is Valentine."

Camilla reels, suddenly feeling herself being dunked under an ocean of water, and as she desperately fights and screams, the water drags her further down, her lungs burn, her throat grazed and tears fall endlessly.

She was drowning within the lies.

Camilla jolts up from her sleep, tears trailing down her cheeks as she as she gasps hazardously, as if her dream of her drowning was happening in reality, and she felt like she had just been saved from that fight for her life.

"No" She whispered, her voice cracking as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Valentine can't be my father"

Oh shit

So, these next couple of chapters are really important to me, since they're the original ideas I had when creating this fan fic and I really want them to be perfect, therefore I created this chapter of Cam finding out about her dad being Valentine as short and a memory reveal because the next chapters are revolved around that.

I hope you enjoyed, don't for get to VOTE, COMMENT, AND SHARE.

And stick around for the next chapter, trust me, it will be worth it :)

See you next time xoxo
