I let out a deep sigh, I could feel sleep begin to creep into my mind, the warmth of my lover and the many comforters around me pulling me deeper into slumber. I focused on the soft sound of Technos breathing, the soft snores harmonized with the beating of his heart, creating a beautiful symphony. The moon shone from just above the window pane, its soft light illuminating his sharp features and warming my heart.

I finally close my eyes, giving into the whispers of sleep, and begin to feel myself fall under its wing. Time seems to pass slowly, sweet dreams filling my mind before suddenly a light tug and the sound of wimpers fill the silent space around me. At first I ignored it, being in this tired state i couldn't differentiate the dream state and reality, leaving me to question if what i was feeling was real or not, but as the feeling continued, and the wimpers became soft sobs, i immediately became panicked

My body shot up from the sheets, my eyes still adjusting as I frantically searched the room. Finally looking at the foot of the bed, the silhouette of a small child became apparent, making my heart settle a bit.

"faye?"
I called out to the small girl, my voice barely above a whisper. It was apparent that she couldn't see as her head frantically searched the room for my voice, making me stand up to grab the small girl.

She felt so fragile in my arms, considering she was only five. She had always been such a tiny kid, just barely tall enough to reach a door handle, which is why techno had been so stuck on the name fayette, which meant small fairy in French, something that he often reminded her of.

As soon as she settled into my arms, i felt the body next to me begin to stir

"You ok princess?"

Technos voice was deep and raspy from having just woken up. I rubbed circles into her back, feeling her tear stained face dig further into my chest

"What happened love?"

She sniffled a bit before pulling away from me slightly, allowing us to look at the small girl. Her hair pulled back, small curls cupping her face, pink cheeks and rosy lips accompanied her doll like features. She wore pink polka dot pajamas, and in her hand was a small pig plush. Despite her being completely in the dark to her fathers online persona, she had somehow always been pulled to pig memorabilia.

"I had a nightmare.. There was a monster and- and no one was there to save me"
She mumbled with a frown, her voice barely audible in the dark room

"Hey princess"

The small girl looked over to her father, her eyes still glossed over, and lips quivering. She reached her hands out to him as he pulled her into his lap, her head now resting on his chest

"Your mother and i are always here for you, no matter what happens, you will never, ever be alone"

He began to run his fingers through her hair, his cheek laying atop of her head

"You're safe here in my arms sweetheart, i promise"

Her breathing quickly slowed, light hiccups escaping her lips every so often. The three of us settled into the large bed, the boy still holding the girl tightly against him, one hand wrapped around her and the other hand holding mine. The pale moonlight shone so perfectly on the beautiful sight in front of me, and i almost couldn't believe that i had been so lucky as to call this my family.

"Daddy"
Her voice was muffled, but loud enough to make out

"Yes princess"

"Can you sing to me"

There was a long pause, and i knew this was due to the boy nearly melting at her words, but soon enough his soft voice filled the room

"time is an illusion that helps things make sense"

My heart began to swell

"So we are always living in the present tense—

—It seems unforgiving when a good thing ends"

The three of us began to sing together, to anyone else it would sound like a broken symphony, but to me in was all I could ask for

" But you and I will always be back then—

—You and I will always be back then "
