AN: you can really see how much of a hopeless romantic I am in this one </3
It felt so cliche.
The wind perfectly brushed through his hair, the taste of strawberry prominent on my tongue and the warm scent of distant grasses and blooming marigolds filled the atmosphere- The sun sat perfectly upon a blue sky, pale clouds accompanying its presence and leaving trails of its rays against the picnic blanket
The boys eyes were speckled with gold, his skin illuminated and glowing as he stared off into the park, the sight of children chasing kites and climbing trees warming his heart
I couldn't help but stare, he was so lovely
"If I could stay here with you forever I would" I hadn't noticed how he had turned, his body now facing mine as his fingers nervously pull at the strings on the blanket below us
"Oh shush Jacobs- god you're so cheesy"
The boy giggles, a goofy grin tugs at his lips as a warm blush creeps across his freckled nose
His hand reaches out to grab mine, his touch is soft, though just the feeling of his fingertips shoot fireworks through my body and up my spine. I feel so pathetic, so helplessly in love with the boy in front of me
"Wanna do something fun?"
His voice is full of excitement as he scrolls through his phone, clearly deep in thought as his brows furrow
"Depends what it I-"
I barely had enough time to respond before a mischievous smile creeped onto his face and the sound of "Come on Eileen" could be heard through his phone speaker
"Karl- no"
He quickly stumbles to his feet, his hair was a mess and grass stuck to his jeans as he held a hand out to me
"Cmon y/n! You're not gonna leave me hanging are you"
"We're in the middle of a par-"
"Living room routine!"
The boy begins to dance along to the song, his hands quickly grabbing mine as he pulls me to my feet. His mischievous smile only grows as he begins to recreate the familiar scene from perks of being a wallflower, amused giggles fall from my lips as he pulls us around through the grass
It was almost as if everyone had disappeared, only the muffled song and his laughter filled my mind as we continued to move with the beat
"C'mon Eileen!" The boy sings along, the lyrics jumbled together with laughter as he throws his head back, clearly amused by my poor attempt at mimicking emma Watson
"this is terrible" His words are almost unrecognizable through his amused giggles but that doesn't atop him from screaming the lyrics and grumbling at my lack of effort
I look up at the boy as he dances, his hair sticks to his forehead and an oversized grandpa sweater hung off his body as his arms flail around him - he looks almost childlike, not a care in the world but a smile pulling at his lips, a sight that brought a loving grin to my face
It wasn't long before the song faded and Karl's hands found their way back to my waist, laughter continued to fall from our lips as he pulled me closer, my head now comfortably rested on his chest
Broken pants leave his lips as his fingers find their way to my hair, gently pulling through the curls in an attempt to help calm my breathing, the gesture making my heart swell
He stops for a moment before slowly lowering the two of us back onto the picnic blanket, my body now comfortably in his lap
"I can't believe we just did that" He smiles, his cheeks and ears still pink from having just calmed down from his serotonin high
He shakes his head in disbelief but doesn't respond, instead leaning forward, his head finding its way into the crook of my neck
His breaths are soft as they feather across my chest, butterflies fill my stomach and I almost forget that I'm on earth, the bliss from this moment leaving me on cloud-nine
We sit like this for a moment, the sun beats down on our sticky skin, our body heat so strong that I fear we may melt but i didn't want to let go.
I could feel him smile against my shoulder as he pulls back, his body just far enough for his nose to touch mine, our lips dangerous close to each other's
He lingers for a moment, a smile still gracing his lips as he finally leans in, my heart bursting into a fury of flames as he does
I almost couldn't breathe, no matter how many times I had felt his embrace, time after time I was left speechless, my mind spinning with an overwhelming sense of passion and love. I was so head over heels for him - so desperately in love
I allow a suffocating gasp to push past my lips as we pull apart, my eyes flutter open, almost too eager to see the boy
As I look up his eyes are still closed though, a content smile on his lips as he hums to himself- He stays like this for a moment, just soaking in the sun and your embrace
"Ya know, I think we're soulmates" His voice is soft yet playfully sarcastic, a warm smile accompanying his words on as he finally opens his eyes
"Soulmates? That's dumb" I hold back a laugh as I lean forward to place a soft kiss on his lips, the boy releasing an annoyed grumble as I pull away just far enough so I could whisper to him once more, my voice full of sarcasm and amusement
"But we... we're definitely soulmates"
THE AUTHOR SPEAKS : I feel like my writing is gradually getting worse lol :)
Anyways just finished watching perks of being a wallflower for the 4th time this months and the gender envy I have for Charlie is getting unbearable <3 lol rip me
