The fight between Akaza and the two pillars broke out. At first, they were able to keep up with Akaza. That was until Akaza hurt Rengoku's eye. That was the breaking point for Giyuu. All his life he was saved by ones he loved, and he was not allowing this to happen for the third time. First Tsutako, then sabito, now Rengoku? Nope. He is not going to allow this to happe. He was furious.His bodily temperature drastically increased to over 39 degrees Celsius and his heart rate increased to over 200bpm. His slayer mark appeared and he saw. He saw through Akaza's skin. He saw his blood flow, his joints and muscles. The world around him suddenly seemed to be in slow motion. He realised how strong this person was, and gripped his sword harder. His sword, sneakily turned into a shade of crimson red. Suddenly, his speed increased greatly, and his slashes dealt so much more damage to Akaza.

He realised that he had gotten the mark that muichiro and Mitsuri had been talking about. He immediately yelled the instructions to Rengoku while dodging Akaza's attacks. and Rengoku successfully achieved the mark as well. They successfully gained the upper hand in the battle. Water and flame, a match made in heaven.

But, Akaza decided to sneakily attack Rengoku. As he was about to stab him in the abdomen, Giyuu rushed up in front and blocked at attack for him using his own body. Akaza's arm went through Giyuu's body. But he realised something was wrong just as he tried to pull it out. Rengoku had hid his fighting spirit and slashed off Akaza's head.

Akaza was defeated. Just as he was crumbling away, he used the last of his powers to tell Muzan what happened.

Muzan was furious.

Rengoku grasped Giyuu in his arms, hugging him as he was regenerating. Suddenly, just as they stood up, he realised something was wrong. Terribly wrong.

Giyuu was obviously in pain. He tried to go near him but he pushed him away. Suddenly large hands squirmed out of his mouth, breaking his jaw. Rengoku tried to slash the arms away, but these arms were tough. He watched as the arm slowly turned around, and crushed Giyuu's head into a million pieces.

Rengoku screamed as Giyuu slowly withered away.

"GIYUU! NO! DONT LEAVE ME.."

"Please.."

"WHY? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THIS? YOU IDIOT! Why did it have to be you.."

Rengoku grabbed Giyuu's hand and put it on his face as he cradled Giyuu in his arms. He couldn't take it anymore. Big fat tears rolled down his face. Normally he wouldn't let others see him sad, but this was Giyuu for gods sake. Giyuu spoke as he crumbled away.

"Rengoku, I love you. I love you more than anything in this world."

"I love you too."

Half of his body was left.

"Rengoku, please. Go on. Defeat Muzan. For me, for us."

Only less than half of his body was left.

"I love it when I smile. But when I smile, it's because of you."

With that final sentence, Giyuu withered away, leaving nothing but his clothes, and his katana.

He grasped his clothes and cried, before remembering his words.

"Rengoku, please. Go on. Defeat Muzan. For me, for us."

"For you."

If it wasn't for Giyuu's words, Rengoku would've killed himself right on the spot. He didn't want him to go, he needed him.

Rengoku was sure that they would win.
