The pillars were all back at the estate. At that time. Kagaya was already very sick. He could not walk. He could only talk. The corps were currently managed by his wife, Amane.

Rengoku also missed him. He missed him so much that he almost rushed in infinity castle to save him. But he couldn't. During the Hashira meeting, master mentioned kagaya's encounter with Muzan. She also mentioned how Muzan declared himself as Giyuu's boyfriend. Hell knows what he's doing to Giyuu.
