The past few days have been busy. Officials have come to measure me for a wardrobe, palace guards have gone over security measures with me, it's chaotic. We spoke with a lady named Victoria over the phone, who seemed to be like the official person who is in charge of all this stuff. It's two days before departure, and I'm a wreck. I don't even know why. Another official came over to discuss rules and regulations. "Alright Adam, my name is Emma, and I'm here to tell you some rules. But first, I would like you to have the other two children to leave the room. There are some topics we are discussing which aren't for young ears." "You heard the lady." Mom said, turning to Rachael and George. Go to your rooms. You could tell Rachael wasn't pleased to be sent away, and George couldn't care less, but they both went away. "Anyway Adam, first and foremost, I would like to congratulate you for making it in The Selection. I would like to inform you, as of now, your caste is a three." "A three!?" Me and Mom exclaimed at the same time. Emma nodded. "Twos and threes usually do okay after getting kicked out, but fours and below tend to struggle, that's why we do this." Then she went on with the rules. "Now for some rules and other things. You will not attack other participants, no matter what." "Seems reasonable." I thought. "Next, you may not cause harm or discomfort to the Princess or the royal family. You may not have any relationships with anyone else but the Princess. If you are found to be violating any of these rules you will be punished according to the law. Just because you are part of the selected, does not mean you are above the law. Do you understand?" "Yes." I said. "I do." "Perfect," Emma practically purred. "Now, let's go over some other things. Since you are a five I'm assuming you aren't getting proper nutrition, so you will have to take a daily vitamin. You must take the utmost care of yourself until you are sent to the palace, you are now considered property of the royal family, before I go on to the next thing do you have any sickness, or any physical ailment that we need to address? Your medical history is perfectly fine, you're a healthy young man. I just need to know if anything is bothering you." Before I could even say anything my mom butted in. "Adam needs sleeping aids, he hasn't been sleeping well." I blinked in surprise. Mom had noticed? "We will send some sleeping aids." Emma said, jotting something down on a clipboard. "Last but not least, I need confirmation that you are a virgin." "Oh!" Mom and I said in unison. That's why Rachael and George had to leave. You see, in Minecraftia, the law was you couldn't... You know... Until you got married. "Of course I am! I know the law, I'm not stupid." I said. "Great!" Emma said cheerfully. "Just sign this form saying I gave you all the rules, and regulations." I signed it, then handed it to Emma. She handed me another signature form. "Now sign this one confirming you are a virgin." I signed it. She shook my hand. "Pleasure meeting you, Adam. Good luck in the competition." "Thanks." I said solemnly. Well this was it. It was official, I was leaving in two days and nothing could stop it now. I, Adam Dalhberg, was part of The Selection.
