Dinner was a relief. Everyone was gossiping about the guy who had insulted Alesa, and trying to figure out who it was. I swear if Alesa wasn't a future ruler, I would kill her. After dinner I went up to my room. I was a bit tired, but I was eager for Alesa to come by. When I got to my room, my maids had everything ready for me. "Here Adam, we have some night clothes for you." Mango said. We'll leave once you are changed and ready to sleep." "Er, actually, I kinda need to stay in my suit for now." I said awkwardly. They made the connection, and realized Alesa was coming by. Natalie let out a small gasp, along with Ashley and Mango. "Would you like anything else, sir?" Ashley asked. "Nope, I'll be fine. If I need anything, I'll ring." They each gave small bows, and ran off. I sighed an plopped down onto my bed. I wonder how long it would take Alesa to get here. To pass the time, I started singing quietly to myself.

I heard there was a secret chord,
That David played and it pleased The Lord
But you don't really care for music do ya?

It goes like this the fourth the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled King composing hallelujah.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

I didn't get to finish singing before I heard an applause at my door. Crap, Alesa was here. She opened the door, and gave me an awestruck look. "Dang Adam, I knew you could sing, but I didn't know you were that good!" I kept on blushing. "Er, what did you want to talk about?" I asked awkwardly. "To be honest, I kinda need someone to rant to. Grab a jacket, we're going outside." Alesa said briskly. I went to the small closet in my room, grabbed a jacket, and followed Alesa curiously. We walked to our usual place, the gardens. For the first time, I noticed Alesa was a bit upset, but I had no idea about what though. As we walked through the halls, I heard Jason and Bashur chatting. Oh no, they're going to see us. As we walked by Jason and Bashur, the mood changed immediately. Jason looked ticked off at me, and Bashur has a curious look. Whoops, looked like I was caught having a second date with Alesa. I knew by morning I would get questioned by a bunch of jealous guys. I gave a small groan, and Alesa gave me a sympathetic look. When we finally got out, we sat on a bench in the gardens, and I prepared myself for what a Alesa needed to get off her chest. "Alright, I guess it's time to rant." Alesa began awkwardly. "I never really get a chance to open up to people, and this is probably going to sound pretty awful, but here it goes. I'm getting really just stressed and worried over everything Adam! You guys are the ones who have it easy. You all don't have to plan dates around royal duties. I honestly absolutely suck at anything to do with royal duties! I don't know how to strategically place troops, handle taxes, or anything like that! I'm making a fool of myself in front of my parents, who can obviously tell I have no idea what I'm doing! And another thing, I'm making a fool of myself in front of my parents and my country in this whole selection thing! I'm dating for the first time in my life and I can't make sense of anything! How am I supposed to meet my soulmate in here? What if I already accidentally sent my soulmate home, thinking that they weren't the one, what will I do then? What do I do Adam, what do I do?" Alesa was crying now, this was the first time I had seen her cry. I mulled over my answer carefully, before I gave an answer. "Alesa, it's going to be okay. I promise you you will find your soulmate here. Look at the past rulers. They found their soulmate. With the whole royal duties thing, you wanna here a secret or my own?" I asked. Alesa looked at me, getting a little more cheered up. "The first time I tried learning the violin I ended up breaking three of them, before I learned to actually play it." Alesa started giggling. "Really?" "Oh yeah I really sucked. Anyway, I have a strong feeling that you will definitely find your soulmate here. Don't worry." I said, giving her an awkward hug. She flinched at first, but then she returned the hug. "Thanks." She mumbled. I smiled. She was feeling better. I could've fallen asleep in her arms, but I didn't.
