Before I went on the date with Princess Alesa, I read the letter from my family.
To our beloved son Adam,
We are glad to hear you are doing well! We can't wait to see you on TV this Friday on The Report!
Oh yeah, I forgot I'd be sitting on stage quietly with the other selected members during The Report.
We are all very proud of you. Thank you for sending treats, that was very kind of you. But good lord, three boxes!? Isn't that a bit overkill, Adam? Rachael is going to be one very spoiled little girl with these treats! We hope you continue to impress the princess while you are there.
Yeah right, good one.
Anyway, we love you and Miss you Adam, and we know you will continue to do very well.
-Your loving family
P.S. Adam sweetie this is your mom, I have a piece of advice for you. Don't make friends too easily in a competition like this! It's not good sweetie. Anyway, continue to do your best!
-Mom
I looked at my letter for a long time, gazing at the letters until they became a blur. I missed my family a whole lot. While I sat on my bed, just blankly stating at my letter, my maids came in with a very fancy black and white tuxedo. It was actually pretty cool. I put it on, and let my maids fix up my hair. They fixed me up, then I looks picture perfect. Mango gave a bow. "When you return, ring for us sir, and we can help you get ready for bed." Ashley and Natalie nodded vigorously. As they walked out, Ashley whispered, "Go get 'em tiger." I chuckled, and checked the time. 8:00. She would be here soon. "Well you look like you walked straight out of the 1980's." I hear a voice at my door. I turn around, to see Princess Alesa leaning against the doorframe causally. I remember learning about the 1980's in a history lesson with my mom. It was a time without technology, and without color TV. I chucked. "I don't know what's more red, your dress, or your hair." I said, acknowledging what she was wearing. "Oh come on, you can come up with a better comeback than that." Princess Alesa said, rolling her eyes. I thought for a moment. Nothing came to mind. "I got nothing." I admitted. Princess Alesa rolled her eyes again. "It seems her royal highness has an attitude problem." I said. She smiled. "You're a pain. I should just kick you out now." She said with mock exasperation. "Anyway, we've got a walk in the palace gardens to do, so shall we?" Princess Alesa offered me her arm. I took it, and we walked to the palace gardens together. This was going to be my first date with her. Better not screw it up. We walked out to the palace gardens, chatting about stupid things. "Hey Alesa, one of the guys wanted to know if you're good at chess. Cause, you know. You're a royal person or something." "I DETEST chess, Adam." Princess Alesa groaned. "It's fun though!" I argued. "It's like a game of strategy, to know where you'll put you're army so you can take the king." "My dad already gets on to me for not liking it, I don't need you getting at me for it." She warned me. Princess Alesa and I continued our walk through the gardens. "So tell me about your family." Princess Alesa asked me. I thought about how I would word my answers. "Let's start with the oldest, Katie. She's really awesome, and smart. She's married a three named James. I miss her a lot, she was a huge influence as I grew up. Then there's Jeremy. He's my older brother. I guess he's ok, he's really good with sculpting." I didn't really go into detail on how much of a jerk he was. "Then there's me!" I said. Princess Alesa smiled. "There's you, my closest friend I have!" I felt bashful. I'm not exactly good with the whole "friend" thing still. I continued on. "Next, we have my little sister, Rachael. She's super sweet! Also, a bit boy crazy if you ask me. Lastly, we have George. He's not sure about what he wants to do yet. So yeah, that's my family." Our walk was going good so far. I was nervous though. Knowing me, I will probably find a way to screw this up, unfortunately. The question is when, and how.
