jihye had reached the stairs of the rooftop. she sighed, knowing that something was going on with her bestfriend and that it was extremely important.
with slight nervousness, she pushed opened the door to the rooftop with both of her hands. the bright sun hit her like blades. it was an extremely sunny day and there was no shade whatsoever.
"nara?" she called out. she didnt get any reply. she stepped into the hot sun and walked around a little, eyebrows furrowing with concern when she found her friend sitting on the edge of the rooftop.
"nara- what are you doing there?! don't sit there! it's dangerous!" she yelled at the younger. nara didnt move. she continued staring out into the distance of the city and the clouds above.
after a few seconds, nara pat her hand on the left side of her, signalling jihye to come beside her. jihye did so, taking a few steps forward and leaning her back on the edge.
"what did you need to tell me?" she turned to her best friend. nara sighed, but it wasnt the sad type of sigh; it was the type of sigh which possessed so much feeling in it.
"jihye," answered in a silvery small voice. "i have to confess something." nara looked shameful for some reason.
nara sighed once again before continuing, " im dating someone." "wait what?!" jihye shouted out of shock and glee. "oh my god, who is it?! im so happy for you!" jihye smiled at her best friend, happy she had found someone to love.
"huh? you're not angry at me?" nara frowned confusedly. "of course not! why would i be?" jihye asked back. "well, i dont know. a part of me though you would be angry because i didnt tell you sooner." nara stammered, looking at the ground out of embarrassment.
"girl i would literally be happy for you whether you told me a month or a year later. it's your decision to hide it or tell people, and i respect that." jihye smiled gleefully. "so... who is itt?" she poked the younger's shoulder.
"her name is han jisu from class 11F. we started dating last week after we confessed to each other." she grinned shy-fully.
"we should meet up for lunch! i wanna see what type of girl my bestie is dating." jihye teased her.
"okay! i'll text her to join us downstairs." nara took out her phone and jumped back to the ground.
jihye glanced at her bestfriend who was obviously smiling at her girlfriend. "what did she say?" jihye questioned.
"see for yourself."
