01. THE PARTY

Reese

"CLARITY IS THROWING A PARTY AND HAS INVITED ALL THREE OF US out to it." Emerson said and I looked over at my youngest friend.

"Clarity, as in the one with the nice rack?" I asked and Emerson nodded.

"Yeah, Sean's sister." Emerson said as Lawson looked up.

"They have a nice house, very big and their parents are out of town often." Lawson told me and I smiled as I shut the locker and turned to them.

"Well seems we have a party to attend, don't we?" I asked the two with a smile.

Lawson smiled as he moved his blonde hair out of his face. "My mom will be out with my step-dad tonight, so I don't have to worry about sneaking out, do you need me to pick you two up?" Lawson asked.

"Duh, how else would we get there?" I asked swinging my bag around my shoulder.

I looked over as a girl in all black walked past us before turning my attention back to Emerson and Lawson. "What time does the party start at?" I asked with a smile on my face.

"It starts at 7PM, we should leave around 6:30." Emerson told us and we nodded.

"Good, well I'll see you two at the party then." I told them as we walked off to our respective classes.

When school ended, I found myself back in my room shifting through my dresser for clothes to wear to the party. I wasn't going to go overboard, but I would like something better than the skinny jeans and t-shirt I was currently in.

I settled on one of my Adidas shirts and a denim jacket along with a pair of my best pants. I slipped on my sneakers before going out into the living room.

My eyes shifted over to where my mom was passed out in her rocking chair with a bottle in her hand. I shook my head before going over. I removed the bottle from her hand and propped her up for she'd be less likely to choke on air and die.

I refused to stay here and babysit her though. I spent my entire middle school year doing that as well as freshmen year and half of my sophomore year. I'm a senior now and you only get that experience once.

With that I went out the backdoor after grabbing my key and leaving. I walked down the street before sitting down to wait for Lawson.

Halfway through one of my songs Lawson's steel grey four seat Ford Mustang rolled up.

Lawson stopped in front of me and I got up and got into the back as Emerson turned towards me and smiled. Lawson drove off as Emerson gave the address of Clarity's house. I leaned my arm on the window of the car as my brown hair blew in the breeze.

Soon we arrived at the large house and Lawson parked in front of the house. He turned off the car before we stepped out.

"And here we are." Lawson commented.

I smiled as I looked up at the house. "Let's head in." I spoke and Emerson and Lawson followed me inside. Clarity's house was gigantic and gorgeous. A large chandelier hung over in the entrance to the house.

Clarity had LED lights over the house and a snack stand in the living room with some punch next to it. We found Clarity in the middle of the large living room with a red solo cup in her hand. A smile spread across her face when saw us coming in.

"Reese!" Clarity exclaimed as she came over spilling some of her drink.

When she came over, I could smell the alcohol on her. She had been drinking. I forced a smile towards her as she stopped in front of us. "I'm glad you could show up." Clarity smiled at the three of us.
