12. Cults & and the Vengeance

Emerson

EMOTIONS were high as the graduation carried on. We were seniors finally graduating after four years in high school. After four years we are finally freed from the chains of school.

At least some of us. Some would be going to college. Lawson, Reese, and I on the other hand have a road trip planned after this. In the morning we would be leaving or at least sometime tomorrow our road trip would begin.

In total it took almost two hours for graduation to be finished. There was the speeches and all that good stuff as every student was called up to receive their diploma, the school flower which happened to be a white magnolia. Then we took our pictures with the diploma and flower.

After that we were sent to sit until everyone else was done. After that we went out.

Things appeared to be easy for now at least. Lawson, Reese and I all met up to take a picture together along with a few friends.

I wasn't surprised to see Plum come up and ask for a picture. Reese had gone off to get his drink from the car.

"Congratulations on graduating." Plum told me as she held her own cap.

"Thank you and you too Plum." I told her after giving her a half hug.

Plum smiled at me. "I know high school is over, but if you ever want to hang out, I'm free. I'm doing online college, so I don't have to worry about classes." Plum told me as she batted her eyelashes at me with an innocent look.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind Plum. I probably won't be able to do it this year though as I'm going on a road trip with Lawson and Reese." I told her.

"Of course. That's fine, have fun on your road trip." Plum told me in her cheery voice before she cast a glance to where Radella stood.

Radella was in her typical gothic clothing but more adjusted to the graduation. I felt weird knowing I could hear from this distance.

"I'll be at the library in an hour Sullivan." I heard Radella say before she hung up the phone. Her green eyes cast a glance over at me before she walked away. My body had stiffened at what she had said and now it's buried in my head.

"Hey, I'll catch you later Plum okay? I can call you tomorrow." I told her and Plum smiled.

"Of course, night Emerson." Plum bid me goodnight before she left.

With that I hurried back over to where Lawson and Reese were exchanging goodbyes with some of the people we were acquainted with or they had dated at one point. "We need to talk now." I told them coming over.

Reese turned around. "Is everything okay?" Reese asked and I shook my head. "It was nice seeing you Laura; however, we're going to have to go." Reese told her and Laura smiled before they left.

Lawson made his way back to the car as we followed. "What's going on?" Lawson asked.

"I may just be overreacting, but I'm pretty sure that guy who literally sacrificed us in the middle of the woods name is Sullivan right?" I asked.

"That's what he was called." Lawson stated.

"Well, Radella just got off the phone with a man named Sullivan. They're meeting up at the library, what if she had something to do with it." Looking on my words I knew I sounded crazy, but the cult is still in town. That much is clear. Lawson's father made that clear.

Reese looked over where Radella was walking away. "I didn't like that girl." Reese responded.

"Reese you don't like most people." Lawson snapped and Reese glared at him.
