AFTER DROPPING EMERSON AND REESE OFF I WENT HOME WHERE MY mom was in the kitchen making dinner. She smiled at me as I came in.

"Smells good in here." I commented.

"I'm making meatloaf." Mom told me as she turned around. I smiled at her.

"Sounds delicious." I told her as I set my bag down before sitting down in the chair to wait for dinner to be done.

"Your dad is going to be home late, he has some work to finish at the station, very important." Mom told me and I nodded.

My dad is a detective at the police station in town. Depending on the case he is working depends on if he'd do overtime or not. Some cases he'd come home on time others just caught his attention too much to just leave without getting somewhere with them.

He's very committed to his cause. "So, the invitations for your graduation party came in." Mom told me and I looked over.

"They did, can I see them?" I asked and mom nodded as she brought them over to me. I smiled as she set the gold and green invinations in front of me and I brought them over. Mom had decided to go a bit further for the party and combine it with Emerson and Reese's.

She had rented out a place, Emerson shared because he wanted to, and Reese shared because we knew his mom wouldn't do it otherwise. Reese didn't have the best home life.

"They're good." I told mom and she smiled.

"I'm glad you like them. You guys party will be one to remember. I promise you that. You only graduate high school once." Mom reminded me with a smile which I returned.

"Least I'm graduating with good grades." I told her and she smiled.

"So, what are you planning to do after high school?" Mom asked.

"Well, I got a college acceptance so I'm either going this year or taking a year gap. Not sure yet, I'll have to talk to Emerson and Reese about it." I told her and mom nodded. Even with high school ending I didn't see our friendship ever ending.

We had known each other for such a long time. There was no way something as simple as college would break us apart.

Especially considering we got sacrificed in the woods together.

I doubt most friends could have that or bond over that. Being sacrificed by a Satanic cult. Remembering that reminded me of the hook-up with Lydia and the discovery we had.

Since we had been sacrificed there was a burning in my throat not to mention I had begun to look worse and worse as the day's past. Now the color had returned to my cheeks. I didn't glow in a similar way to Emerson or Reese, but I still looked much better than this morning.

I barely managed to sneak past my mom when I looked like death hit me with a train going 100 mph at a brick wall. But now I looked better, so I didn't have to hide from my mom.

I was awakened from my thoughts by the beeping of the oven as my mom went up and took the meatloaf with a smile on her face. Once out she checked the temperature before quickly making a side to go with and serving the two of us before we settled down to eat.

Like expected the meatloaf is delicious. Mom made two toned scalloped potatoes with it which were just as delicious.

"I also made dessert if you want any." Mom told me and I looked up.

"What did you make for dessert?" I asked as I finished up the potatoes and set my fork down before looking at my mom.

"I made brownies with cookies on top." Mom told me and I nodded as I stood up and went over to the oven and cut myself a slice before putting some of the vanilla ice cream from the deep freeze on it and sitting down.
