NICK WOKE UP THAT MORNING TO
feel a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. She sat up, pulling the bedsheets over her as she looked around at their room. Even though they had been here for 13 years, she couldn't even imagine life away from Narnia. It really was perfect, especially with the wedding in three weeks which she was elated about.
Nick looked down at Peter, seeing his hair was messy and all over the place.
She smiled, taking a moment to admire him under the morning sunlight. Nick couldn't belive how lucky she was to get to spend the rest of her life with this man, the person she loved more than anything in this world.
"You getting a good look," he asked as he sat up, the bedsheets falling off of him.
"Now I am," she said, running a hand up and down his naked chest.
"We have a meeting this morning," Peter said and Nick smiled.
"It's in an hour," she complained and he chuckled.
"Anyway, Ed wants to go hunt some kind of stag anyway," Peter said as he kissed her on the forehead, pulling some pants on before walking over to the other side of the room.
"Really, a stag?" She asked and Peter chuckled, watching as Nick pulled a robe around herself and walked up to him.
"Yeah, said it'll only be in this forest now," Peter explained, leaning down and pressing a kiss to his fiancés lips.
Later that day, they met up with Edmund, Lucy and Susan and rode through the woods, Nick on her horse as they chased the wild stag through the forest.
It was almost a race as they all followed Peter. The four turned back when they noticed Edmund had stopped and was talking to Phillip.
"Come on Ed," Susan said and Edmund sighed.
"Just catching my breath," he said and Nick chuckled.
"Well that's all we'll catch at this rate," Nick retorted as she met up with the other, Peter by her side like he always was.
Despite the days of the White Witch being over and done, he had always been so protective over her. She never tired of his presence, happy to know he was there.
"What did he say again Susan?" Lucy asked playfully and Susan deepened her voice, mocking Edmund.
"You girls wait in the castle, plan the wedding, I'll get the stag myself," Susan mimicked and Nick laughed, having been planning the wedding in her head for the last three years.
Peter laughed as well before dismounting his horse, seeing a lamppost wrapped in ivory and leaves. The other followed, curious as to what it was.
"It seems familair," Nick said as she approached, Peter instinctively taking her hand, feeling the wedding ring against his hand.
He couldn't help but think that in only a week, he would be marrying his best friend, the love of his life, his soul mate. He was snapped out of his thoughts by the wind howling and he looked back at the lamppost.
They all stared at it confused, wondering where they had seen it before.
"As if from a dream," Susan said and Lucy furrowed her brows, staring at it.
"Or a dream of a dream," Lucy said.
Nick looked at it in curiosity, unsure where she had seen it before.
"Spare oom," Lucy said and Nick furrowed her brow in confusion, looking at Lucy.
"What are you talking about Lu?" Nick asked and she started running towards something. Peter called her name and they started chasing after her.
"Not again," Susan exclaimed, picking her dress up slightly to run faster as Peter and Nick let go of one another to chase after Lucy.
They followed her into a tight row of trees as she begged them to follow her. All of a sudden it became almost difficult to see as they felt something brush up against them.
"These aren't branches," Peter said as he pushed past what could have been coats.
Nick pushed her way through as they all argued about who was stepping on who's toes and Nick knew where she had seen the lamp post before.
"They're coats," Nick said and they all grunted as they were pushed out of a wardrobe one by one.
Nick looked around, eyes wide as she looked at the room she hadn't seen in 12 years. She looked down at herself, seeing she was no longer herself. The door opened and the proffesor walked in.
"Grandfather," she whispered, looking at Peter who had also deaged back to the Peter she had known when they entered Narnia for the first time.
He looked at the kids on the floor in confusion as he held his pipe in his hand.
"Oh, there you are, what were you all doing in the wardrobe?" He asked with a smirk on his face. He smiled when he saw the ring Nick normally wore on her neck on her finger, and a matching one on Peters.
"You wouldn't believe us if we told you, sir," Peter said, looking at Nick with a smile which she gladly reciprocated. He threw a ball to Peter which he caught with his left hand, glancing down at the band on his ring finger, knowing it wasn't just a dream.
"Try me," Proffesor Kirke said and Nick smiled at him.
