[THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS BLOOD AND FIGHTING ]

PETER RODE OUT ON HIS UNICORN, IT felt so stupid saying that, and Nick laughed at his mass amounts of armour. She sat on her horse and he smiled at her,

"Whats so funny?" He asked and their faces were so close as she smirked.

"Nothing," she said and Peter smiled. They rode closer to the field and Peter felt a sudden burst of courage as he looked at Nick in all of her simple armour.

Peter had tried convincing her to wear more but she kept saying that it weighed her down.

"You know, soldiers normally get a kiss good luck before battle," he said, half expecting her to turn around a punch him in the face but instead she laughed. Not a fake laugh, a belly laugh that made Peters face light up.

"Sure Romeo," she said, kissing him on the cheek, both of their faces turning red.

Edmund rode towards them, smiling at the two who were both staring at each other awkwardly.

"I was not expecting that," Edmund said and Nick turned to him, not seeing Peter absentmindedly run a gentle finger over his cheek, unable to comprehend what just happened.

They rode on, none of them talking but it was a comfortable silence as Peter knew he had to protect Nick from whatever was going to happen because he cared too much about her for her to die out there.

They gathered on the field, Nick and Peter standing next to Oreius whilst Edmund was with Mr Beaver at the top of the mountain.

A Griffin landed next to them, Peter on his unicorn and Nick on her simple black horse.

"They come your highnesses, in numbers and weapons far greater than our own" the Eagle said in a panicked tone and Nick leaned her head back in annoyance.

"Numbers do not win a battle," Oreius said and Nick looked at him.

"No, but I bet they help," Nick said, looking over at Peter who looked like he was about to throw up on the battle field.

"You okay?" She asked and he sighed, looking over at her.

"Is it that obvious I feel sick?" He asked and Nick smiled at him.

"Hey, I believe in you," she said.

"Thanks Nicki," he replied and the two stared out at the distance in thought about the upcoming battle.

They watched as a horn was blown, a minatour walking over the hill and roaring.

This signalled a very large army to approach, fear coursing through Nicks veins as she watched.

A chariot rode onto the hill, the White Witch on it. Peter looked back to Edmund before turning to Nick who nodded.

They both pulled out their swords, ready to fight. Peter held his sword up, another person blowing a horn which elicited cheers from the crowd.
