You could hear the music booming before even getting there. As we got nearer and nearer I could see bright colorful lights flashing. Loads of people were arriving, all the girls wearing stilettos and expensive dresses.
I almost forgot to mention the house. It was huge. One of the biggest houses I have ever seen. I couldn't even call it a house; I needed to call it a mansion.
'Wow, this place is huge.' I said as we got out of the car.
'Yeah, I know. It's perfect for a party.' He said as we crossed the street.
'Lucas, just so you know.' I said as we walked to the mansion. 'I never went to a party so big, like this one.'
'It's okay. You're with me.' Lucas said. He put his arm around my waist, and at that moment I felt like I was in heaven.
I couldn't help noticing all the looks we received as we came in. All of Lucas friends were there and came running to talk to Lucas the moment they saw us.
'Hey man! Who's that you got with you?' Asked one of his friends, I could notice by the way he was slurring when he talked that he was already drunk.
'This is Leila, the new girl in school.' Lucas said.
'Oh, so this is the girl?' Another friend from Lucas said. This one was still sober. He looked at me in a way as if he and Lucas had talked a lot about me. I gave my best smile to all of them. Even though I thought that half of them were stupid, I needed to give a good first impression.
There were so many people. I recognized many of them from school. Just like a normal party, people were getting really crazy. Not that I go to many parties, in fact, I rarely go to parties. Especially parties this big and crazy, with so many drunk and high people. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear Lucas, so instead of standing there like an idiot, I just started dancing. Lucas had already started drinking and I got something to drink, too. The alcohol would help me loosen up a little. I still wasn't very comfortable, but I managed to seem normal.
There were many people making out and tomorrow most of them wouldn't even remember who they hooked up with. Lucas slid his hand to my waist and pulled me so close that my mouth was just some inches from his.
'So, are you having fun princess?' Lucas asked.
'I'm loving it.' I said looking straight in his eyes.
Lucas started to pull me closer and tighter and then his mouth started getting really close to mine, but then suddenly someone bumped into me.
'Hey, watch it!' Said a very familiar voice. It was Rebecca. She was wearing a very tight black mini dress and she was holding a bottle of vodka. She looked surprised to see Lucas and I together.
'What are you doing with this loser?' She shouted over the music to Lucas, as if I wasn't right next to him.
I was half expecting Lucas to say he didn't know and start hooking up with her instead, but he just stared at her.
'Fuck off, stop bothering us.' He said, and then he pulled me away into the crowd. I looked behind my back and saw her angry face. I waved her goodbye as Lucas pulled me away.
'Wow, I didn't expect that.' I said taking a sip of my drink.
'You're way better than her.' Lucas smiled and finished his beer.
We had walked into a little room that had a strong smell of weed. He put the empty bottle of beer on a table.
Lucas took a lock of hair that was in my face and put it behind my ear. He got his face really close to mine. He looked into my eyes for some seconds and then kissed me. He really kissed me. Lucas, the hottest boy in school, was kissing me. I put my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. His arms were so strong, but his lips were soft. It felt so good to be in his arms. My heart was beating fast, but time seemed to go slow. I don't know for how long we made out, but I just know it felt really good.
'I've wanted to do that for a long time.' Lucas breathed heavily as he looked into my eyes.
'Me too.' I said smiling my biggest smile and this time it wasn't a fake one.
'Wait here; I'll go get something for us to drink.' Lucas said, walking off.
I sat on the sofa next to me and pinched myself just to make sure all of this was true. I touched my lips, they were still throbbing, his taste still lingering. I can't believe we had kissed.
But was this it? Was that all he wanted, to make out with me and then Monday pretend I didn't exist? No, I wouldn't start thinking about that. I needed to live one day at a time.
While I waited for Lucas I took my shoes off. They were already hurting my feet; I think I'm just not very used to wearing heals. Lucas came back with another beer. He kissed me one more time before sitting next to me. I looked at the beer.
'Don't worry, I'm still sober. I know I have to take you home.' He said as he took a gulp.
I just laughed and let him kiss me again.
'I wanted to kiss you the moment you entered my car tonight.' Lucas whispered into my ear.
'Why didn't you?' I asked as I drank from his beer.
'I wasn't sure you wanted me too.' He shrugged.
Suddenly one of Lucas friends came running in the room.
'Everyone, in the pool!' He shouted and then he ran off.
Lucas looked at me, scooped me up easily in his arms and started running too.
'What are you doing?' I shouted.
'Were going to cool down a little.'
Before I could make sense of what he meant, he jumped into the pool.
Thank God I had taken off my shoes in that room. People had gone from crazy to insane. I looked at Lucas and started laughing and then I kissed him. He had always been the one kissing me, but I didn't want to wait for him to kiss me. My make-up was a mess and I was soaked, but I didn't care, I was having fun.
Some boys started throwing all sorts of things in the pool. I couldn't even identify half of what was being thrown, maybe because I was too busy making out with Lucas.
'You know? You made this night perfect.' Lucas whispered in my ear.
I just smiled and looked at him. I was so hypnotized by his blue eyes that I couldn't even think of an answer.
Everything about this night was perfect. I couldn't believe I was in his arms right now. I felt like it was just us two there. The noise from the party disappeared and all I could hear was his breathing as he looked at me. I stayed there just floating in his arms as he caressed my arms.
Lucas pulled me out of the pool and put his jacket around me. My dress was glued to my body, and my hair was all in my face. His shirt was also glued to his body, making his muscles visible. Lucas traced his fingers to my waist and smiled.
'Hey, I better take you home before your parents get mad.' Lucas said, looking at his watch. It was already half past four. I don't know how the police hadn't come to shut the party down. Well, rich people have their connections.
'I wish I could stay here all night.' I said. I hadn't wanted to say this; I didn't want him to see that I wanted him so bad, but the words just came out of my mouth like I couldn't stop them.
'Me too, but I want your parents to trust me. That way, I can take you out many times.' Lucas said.
So this wasn't a onetime thing? I smiled. 'I just need to get my shoes.'
Lucas dropped me at my house and before I got out of the car, he gave me a gentle and tender kiss.
I slowly tip-toed to my room, trying not to wake up my parents. I took a shower and put on my pajamas all that with a smile on my face.
I kept remembering the way he touched me and pulled me closer to him before he kissed me. Now I just needed to see how he would treat me on Monday. I hope this wasn't just a one-night thing, because I think I really liked him. I needed to stop thinking about what might happen and hang onto the memories of this perfect night. He had said he wanted to take me out more. I needed to trust him; I needed to trust myself.
When I first came to this city I thought it would be terrible and that I would hate it, but it's turning out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I still needed to make things right with Jake, and with Peter, but everything was going way better than before.
I was exhausted; I didn't even know what time it was. I just crawled into bed and kept remembering all of the details of this night until I feel asleep.
