Chapter 9

(Katie's POV)

"I think I need to get my arm checked out." Hayes mentions rubbing it, I look at him and see he's shirtless.

"Oh, did I do that?" I ask innocently noticing it is kind of swollen, he nods and I get up sitting beside him, I press it and he groans in pain.

"Oh my god, it's not broken is it?" I gasp, he shrugs and shakes his head.

"If it is I can't play this season." He says with a grunt, I whine and Nash trots down the stairs.

"Aye, what's going on?" Nash asks with a worried tone, he looks at his arm and makes a face.

"Ooo, that doesn't look good." Nash exclaims, I smack his arm and he shrugs.

"Need someone to drive you to the hospital, I'll get Cam and we can go." Nash says nodding, I nod and go upstairs, I get Hayes' sweatshirt and slip on some vans, also grabbing Hayes' vans.

"Let's go Cam!" Nash yells up the stairs, Cameron follows behind me and we all get in the car, I help Hayes get on his sweatshirt seeing how he can't do it and also his shoes.

"This is all my fault, I'm so sorry." I say shaking my head, Hayes chuckles and shakes his head.

"No, it's okay, reall- agh!" He groans, I feel even worse and try to hurry Cameron.

"Stop rushing me, or else we will end up worse than Hayes." He says hitting my arm, I sit back next to Hayes and put my hand on his leg.

"Grier, ready for an x-Ray?" One of the nurses asks, Hayes stands up with the rest of us following him.

"Um, one at a time please." The nurse smiles, Cameron and I let Nash go ahead, seeing how if it is broken he'll be the one with the information.

"Katie, let's talk." Cameron says sitting back down and patting the spot next to him, I suspiciously walk over to him and he laughs telling me to sit.

"What'd I do wrong?" I ask rolling my eyes, he laughs and shakes his head.

"Nothing, well maybe, but a cute wrong." He says nodding, I get so confused and motion for him to continue.

"You and Hayes, what are you guys? Well what is he to you?" He asks me, I pause and laugh.

"Best friends, duh." I say shaking my head, hoping that's true.

"No, you see Nash and I decided to observe you guys, you seem to like him a lot, and he seems to fancy you as well." He says sounding like the idiot he is.

"Cam, he has a girlfriend, who is actually very nice, I like being his friend. Nothing more, nothing less." I say standing my ground.

"Oh Katie, don't try and get these things past me." He says with a smirk, I roll my eyes up to Nash.

"Katie, I think you might want to go in there." Nash says pointing to the x-Ray room, I get worried and walk up to the door, I walk in and see Hayes getting casted and I feel horrible.

"Welp, you broke it." He says with a laugh, I sigh and walk over to his other side.

"It's not funny, I ruined your season, now you can't play." I say slapping his arm lightly while he laughs.

"Seriously Katie it's fine, I swear, you can even sign my cast, which will repair my broken arm, that you broke, first." He says with a smile, I smack his arm sitting down and making him laugh harder.

"I despise you." I say squinting my eyes at him, he laughs and we watch as the doctor finishes the cast off.

"Try and be more careful son." The doctor says before leaving, I turn to Hayes and smile.

"It's a beautiful shade of black by the way." I say pointing to the cast, he laughs and points at it shaking his head.

"It just feels like a ton of cement on my arm, no biggie." He says with a shrug causing me to slap his arm again.

"You sure do like to touch me." He says with a smirk, I roll my eyes and sit back.

"Don't worry, I like it too." He says grabbing my hand and pulling me forward causing us to be face to face.

He switches his eyes between my lips and eyes before leaning forward.

An then an asteroid hits the earth and they die :)
